Thank you for this video, Steve! I was fortunate enough to lock down both next-gens but I love minimalism in my setup and was unwilling to switch my 2.1 cable back and forth between the consoles. A year ago it seemed like these didn't exist and if they did, they were near $200. Just got this CABLEDECONN ordered through your link for $40 after tax, can't beat that. It'll be here just before the PS5 gets here so everything is gonna be pretty nice. I like how you showed the adjustments that also need to be made on the TV settings end, rather than only the console, and while you were using this specific Samsung model, you made it very clear to show what needs to be done for those who use different TVs. Now I have a great reference so that I don't need to mess around for so long!

While I do not own this specific device, any and all HDMI switchers and splitters I have encountered so far are absolutely and uniquely one-way only. This is all digital electronic wizardry that, to some extent, is not appreciated much by the bloat of DRM/HDCP protection mechanisms, mind. That splitting is somewhat more complicated seems obvious when you look at good splitters that do the job well and don't burn your house down - they eat through your wallet instead.

from amazon Dear buyers: Regarding the Arc function and eArc function of the HDMI switch you consulted, we are sorry, but the previous answer in the Q&A may be wrong. We hope to make another clarification here: Arc function and eArc function are a kind of audio return function, which needs to be reverted to transmit, and our switcher belongs to one-way transmission. When you connect, first connect PS5 or other HDMI devices to our switcher, and then pass The switcher is connected to your TV or monitor. In this connection mode, there is no way to achieve audio return. We have SoundBar mentioned by many customers. Our HDMI switcher has no way to realize audio return through devices like soundbar. Please understand.
Does this switchbox automatically switch depending on the input currently powered or do you manually have to get up off the couch and press the manual switch button on the unit ?? *(i.e, if the last device played was the XBOX and you turn on the PS5 does it autoswitch across?)

do you know if the 8K splitter will solve the 120hz 4K Phillips Hue Sync problem? if so this could be pretty big
@TechSteve3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t used the sync system but it’s worth a try right, just order one no need for guessing

It looks like vrr is off when plugged into this (on xbox). Kind of a shame. Looked pretty good

Looks like a neat device at a reasonable price. However, I'm glad that my LG TV came with four HDMI 2.1 ports that all support VRR, and game mode, and whatnot. So no need for an extra device and cable salad, thankfully.

Gamer here. Despite your preference of easy mode, I find it excruciatingly difficult to dislike you. Well done, GG!

Hey Steve does this converter allow you to play games 120 hz even if your tv is only 60 hz I have a ps5 and 4K tv not looking to get a new tv at the moment

Nope

you don't have to put the micro usb cable into the switcher. the HDMI provides sufficient power for the switcher already. it's just a backup. I've been using it perfectly without that micro usb power.

I film per instructions, it’s easy to get backlash from people. Even though short cuts do work

@@TechSteve i found this out by accident. And I did contact the manufacturer. And confirm the unit can be powered by the hdmi power. It uses a PI3HDX12221 chipset which is quite efficient.

Ok I have Samsung - 75" Class 7 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV, and it only goes up to 60hz. Would this work to increase to 120 hz?

Only on Xbox you can override the settings and max at 1080p at 120Hz

Silly question... I never used a switcher... but how do you actually switch it between the PS5 and Xbox? is there a button on the switch or it by input from your console's controller and switches automatically?
Great video but question, will this work on a TV without 120 hz, I bought one but got stung with the cheap one so returning it for the dearer one, I have a Samsung UE43TU7020K, got some hdmi2.0s and nothing shows up, think I need to mess with the display settings or is their any other solution I don't want to have to keep switching hdmis between ps5 and XBSX thanks in advance
