You're one of the few reviewers if not the only one that shows the posing potential of this figure. Thanks! My Dorn just came today and can't wait to get back and open it up!

Thanks mate! Yeah, it takes a bit more time to do my videos, but showing a bit of posing is something I also appreciate from other creators. Nice! Get familiar with Dorn's articulation and enjoy

Just got mine today: it looks so amazing. It is a bit too gold-y for my taste but he is the Praetorian of Terra, so there is turning back! BTW he is a big chonky boy, and with some of the best articulations I have seen so far: not that I play too much with my figures, but it is nice to have options! No idea why he has two grenades without a place to attach them on the armor ... probably he keeps them on the command table, you never know ... Thanks for you review, will unbox it soon!!
@SkellywagsTV8 ай бұрын
Cheers Mario! Pleasantly surprised at how much movement he can achieve. The two frags is an interesting choice, I was trying to look for them on his mini. Was unsuccessful. Enjoy your unboxing! Always great to open new figures, especially the first in a new line.

Wow. He is awesome. Question, in your opinion does he have better articulation than rockfist? trying to decide which i might pull the trigger on. Thanks for the video and all your hardwork!
@SkellywagsTV8 ай бұрын
Ooohh Dorn has the butterfly joints, where Rockfist does not. However, Arjac's articulation is fairly straight forward and a smoother experience. I'd say go for the design you like more Gunnar. Arjac would still be my choice!

@@SkellywagsTV Okay But in theory, if you tear it off, then it will also be pressed against the backpack, and visually not look broken?

With the helmeted head you got for your Rogal Dorn figure, did you paint it yourself, because the painted head I ordered from the same site is 3D printed, and the layer lines show through the paint in certain areas, and the paint itself is not 1:1 with the original figure's paint. But yours looks much closer. I also got a helmeted head for Fafnir Rann, but the fitment on both heads was awful, and the Rann head isn't even painted. So I was going to get molds made of both helmets so I can have them cast in resin, which won't have the layer line texture. Which I would then have to send off to be professionally painted to match their respective figure. Not sure if that's what you did.
@SkellywagsTV6 ай бұрын
Hey mate, mine is from toyverse.top, did you use them too? I got two painted custom heads, and both are really good quality paint. I've been planning videos on both to coincide with my affiliate partnership with them, which is still not ready. It's a shame yours wasn't up to par. I'll be getting more from them, so hoping they'll be as good.
@lunardeathblade25705 ай бұрын
@SkellywagsTV Yeah, I used the same site. The paint is fairly close but doesn't match 100%, especially the finish. It's not as metallic as the original figure's paint. Also, the 3D print lines showing through the paint, mainly at the top, where it is round. I got a different helmet than you, though.

Does the winged helmet of Lion'el Jhonson fit with Rogald Dorn?
@SkellywagsTV5 ай бұрын
Kinda, but they're not the same connection. Dorn has a separate neck piece
@MentoSgomentoS5 ай бұрын
@@SkellywagsTV removing the neck piece don't you find a ball joint like in Lion?
@SkellywagsTV5 ай бұрын
It's not the same. The Lion and Gilly have the same neck system, which is a bigger ball on a peg that rests quite high up into the head. Dorn's is a small ball that is similar to normal Joytoy space marine neck joints

Elbows and knees are ratchet joints? I really dislike ratchet joints in figures. I feel like I'm fighting the figure.
@dredgewalker8 ай бұрын
Feels unnatural but it helps in stabilizing the character and prevents joints from loosening so you'd probably be thankful later on.
@adventurepromo8 ай бұрын
@@dredgewalker ha, I'm 41, so I've lived the later on. I think I'm still trying to capture the fluid movements I perfected with o ring Joes in the 80s. The smaller JoyToy figures are current favorites because they have a no ratchets. I don't pose my figures. They're my version of a stress ball, occupies my hands while I'm thinking.

No ratchet joints. Just very sturdy!
@dredgewalker8 ай бұрын
@@adventurepromo Had so many gi joes loosen up joints and replaced the o-ring on some of them. My primary collection is super robots so I'm used to ratchet joints and can't imagine them holding up properly due to the weight. Right now I've also started collecting robot spirits and sh figurarts and they have no ratchets but the joints hold up very well since they're small figures anyway. Though I do prefer ratchets when the figure is too heavy and the leg parts benefit the most from it. I've been collecting since the early 80's and most of my toys are japanese figures.
