They see videos like this and miss that one bit (if it's included at all) and think it should take a day or a few days max. Then when it doesn't, they think they must just have a really bad idea or they did something wrong and so they give up. @@lolatmyage You don't have to worry about tool wear, production quality tooling comes with wear specifications, you replace them on a schedule. Modern CNC production really truly does not need an expert machine operator, all the expertise (and there is lots of it) happens before production. You start the production run knowing exactly how much stock you will use, exactly how many tools and how often to replace them, and how much waste there will be in your raw materials. Without unknowns the pricing is less risky and when costs like tool wear are quantified in the job then you have less general overhead cost. If Giaco did his homework right, and made his desired profit on his $6k kickstarter goal, with 50+ times that his per piece price will drop and he will come out of it with a nice bit of money to roll into his next idea.

how does it function if I'm unscrewing something from the side tho? or even from underneath? seems to be an amazing tool for unscrewing from up top though!

I bought one, waited… well over a year, and it finally arrived. I regret NOTHING. The Kinetic Driver is a masterpiece of minimalist engineering. It is an icon of irreducible complexity. It is my favorite tool. I use it constantly. And on top of all that, it has become a weird kind of status symbol amongst my geek associates. Three people I know personally, irl… all know of Giacomo via YT, and were visibly shocked, impressed & maybe a little envious that i had acquired this limited run object of their desire. I’m not typically a materially competitive person, but i can kind of see why so many of us spend so much on cars and watches.
