The presence of Mannimarco in TES IV:Oblivion as a mortal is because of his duality in existence, both as a god and as a mortal. The Warp in West is a weird event in the lore, where all of the factions in the Iliac Bay and the Underking and Mannimarco gained control of the Mantella, making every ending in Daggerfall canon, even if they contradict each other (for example if you give the Mantella to one of the faction, they will destroy the others). For those of you who don't know, Mantella is some or of a gem that contained a powerful soul (the Underking) and was used by Tiber Septim to fuel the Numidium (a powerful dwemer golem) and conquer Tamriel with it. As a result of this event Mannimarco continues to exist both as a mortal and a god and that's why we see him in TES IV. P.S: that's my personal interpretation of the events in Daggerfall and why Mannimarco appears in Oblivion. As such they might not be 100% correct. Also, pardon my english if it sucks, not a native english speaker.

Caleb Kopp The Warp in the West was a Dragon Break. These are events where the linear timeline branches in different realities and at the end of it they rejoin into a single one. During The Battle at the Red Mountain it can be considered that another Dragon Break took place, because of the conflicting views on what happened there. This is likely caused by the activation of the Numidium, although we can't be entirely sure. So yeah, as you said Numidium can "punch the time in the face" it seems. Elder Scrolls lore has its Inception, Interstellar moments sometimes....

Mannimarco has very recently caught my interests, and the more I hear about him the more I start to absolutely love this guy and his absolute determination to basically make himself into a god (Which he has in a sense)

They are doing a fanmade dlc thats supposed to release sometime this winter called Awake: Rise of Mannimarco. It looks really really good. It's been delayed so many times but I keep hoping. He is also one of the more underestimated characters in ESO lore, in terms of his impact. You could almost call Mannimarco the main character of ESO. He is behind or directly responsible for a LOT of the major events in all of the games. There are whole epic quest lines dedicated to dealing with single artifacts of his. People don't get how powerful a necromancer god would be. He completely upended the power balance of the worlds, by himself.

I know exactly what you mean. I see these characters in games (Manimarco, The Elder Scrolls) and books (Vraad, Legends of the Dragonrealms) and it almost brings a tear to my eye. Mannimarco will be back. He survived the vestige and escaped Oblivion, he can certainly come back after being beaten by a Shezzarrine who is the Hero of Kvatch, Champion of Cyrodil, the next Divine Crusader, and mantled Jyggalag to become New Sheogorath. The only reason a Shezzarine can become a god is because of their connection with Lorkhan. However this is not always the case as it is heavily implied in the games that anyone can become a god IF they can achieve CHIM. Both Mannimarco and the HoK did just that and became gods.

Sorry to butt in, but, technically speaking, yes, Magnus could be considered an Aedra because he poured some his energy into creating Mundus. However, because he chose to flee before Mundus was finished with the rest of the Magne Ge following him, he's not regarded as one of the primary Aedra of worship. I believe, in this way, he's classified as an et'Ada only. Still Anuic, just not widely considered as important as the more worshiped spirits.

In my recent oblivion save i made a some sort of female manimarco with all the artifacts he created Necromancers amulet, bloodworm helm and staff of worms next ill do a shadow scale build in oblivion.

Took me a lot of time, but I now consider that the Mannimarco in Oblivion was the real deal. He was a Lich, but is the only one known to retain his "living" appearance. His powers were greatly reduced against the Campion of Cyrodiil due to the Massive Soul Gem containing Traven's Soul shielding him against Mannimarco's power. And the overall lack of Mannimarco's actual combat abilities can be blamed on lazyness on Bethesda's part paired with the limitations of the technology of that time. Due to the warp of the west, Mannimarco split into two possibilities, one becoming the Necromancer's moon, and the other remaining on Tamriel without achieving Apotheosis. Its just such a shame that the confrontation with this legendary Lich became so lackluster in the game.

Mannimarco's soul had ascended to the heavens, becoming a celestial body. The Shade of the Revenant, as witnessed in ES: Oblivion, was a manifestation of his power. I suspect that same power which was used to create black soul gems was used to possess the Altmer necromancer that called himself Mannimarco. A puppet. I suspect that Mannimarco was merely banished from the mortal plane. I certainly hope he makes a reappearance in ES: VI. One of the few truly evil and influential characters in that universe.

what you got to understand about mannimarco in the third era is that the dragonbreak made all the endings canon during daggerfall. Which means alternate timelines merging, which means that in one time, mannimarco ascended, in another he did not. so there's two mannimarco's in the main continuity because of this. This is also the event that created talos.

Im pretty sure Mannimarco isnt the first Lich... Im no expert in Elder Scrolls lore, but I've played ESO. In the Crypt of Hearts Dungeon there is a Lich called Nerien'eth. ESO happens before Mannimarco becomes a Lich. So by that logic, Mannimarco was not the First Lich. Or I may be reading too far into this, and its just ESO lore clashing with Oblivion Lore.

Why are people doubting the legitimacy of Oblivion's Mannimarco? It fully fits into the Warp in the West, with him both becoming a god (the Necromancer Moon, which allows you to create soul stones in Oblivion) and not. It is even explained in the game, with texts referencing both the King of Worms, the God of Worms and their struggle to remove Arkay.

due to the warp in the west and its time altering shenanigans manimarco was split into 2 existences one as the god and one as a plain mortal (since one of the outcomes turned manimarco into a god while the other did not, and yet since they all paradoxically happens then his existence was split in 2), the mannimarco met in oblivion was the mortal manimarco explaining why he was comparatively weaker to what you would expect from someone who obtained godhood

Mannimarco became a god but still retained his mortal form because of the Dragon break, so in a way you could say that his mortal body is a tiny little fragment of the being that is the Necromancer's moon, therefore, when the mortal body dies, he returns to the moon.

The Warp in the west created two Mannimarcos, of sorts, the God of Necromancy and the King of Worms. The God of Necromancy no longer wonders Nirn but the King of Worms did and so what was seen in Oblivion is the King of Worms. However he probably won't stay dead as somebody will probably try to resurrect and fail to control him, like they did the Wolf Queen.

I believe it's understood that all of the possible outcomes of the dragonbreak in TES II happened. That means that Mannimarco did ascend and become the Shade of the Revenant, but that he also failed to ascend and should have stayed "normal." The Mannimarco that we see in TES IV looks like a living altmer, and I'm pretty sure if you check the CS, you'll find that he isn't undead. I think that his particular form of lichdom is more refined than what he allows his followers the knowledge to become. He's not "undead" according to the game because they didn't want to make a unique talking lich for him. This theory doesn't account for the possibility that he is using illusion to appear normal, possessing someone's body, or restored his mortal body between TES II and IV. Finally, the ascended Mannimarco could have given the unascended version of himself a new body.

I want him to appear in Es6 and give us some sort of weapon, book, or item if we side with him kinda like a little nod now that he is god, I was thinking of maybe making a quest where you hear someone in the taverns say that they heard the black worms where seen in (insert some random place) and when you go there you meet a priest of arkay and he ask for help. You see them doing a ritual and defeat everyone you realize that they were trying to contact him, you can either complete the ritual they were doing or stop it and receive gold and random enchanted item for not doing it. However if you decide to complete the ritual by killing the priest ( he will try and stop you if you do) manimarco will appear and blah blah blah ( insert cool lines and plot) he will ask to do some stuff and go on some cool missions and in the end he will give a reward that is special from him or maybe you just get a blessing from him that will last forever.

It is hard to say whether or not he truly was the first lich. I know the lore points out to him being the first but there are instances where it is brought into question. One of the most noteworthy ones would be the King of Miscarcand whom is seemly supposed to be an ayleid lich. If that is the case the ayleids fell to ruin long before Mannimarco was born and if the King made himself a Lich then evidently Lichdom existed in some form before Mannimarco

That being said, yes he was over 1000 years old but that's not very strange for power altmer sorcerers. While altemer only live for 400 to 600 years naturally, their sorcerer's tend to live much longer.

The Dragon Priests became Lichs long before Mannimarco was born. In a way the Dragon Priests were the first to use Necromancy but some wolves argue and say it was the Slode i don't believe the Slode to be true Necromancers. The Dragon Priests were extremely powerful in their prime as well as cruel beyond measure. Both Mannimarco and the slode seem to have some fear for them otherwise they would have reanimated as servants, slaves, generals to serve them. Their is another undead entity that in fact is rumored to be feared by Mannimarco and undead entity known as the Under King but from what i under stand it is unknown if multiple undead entitys have had this title of if its the same entity or not.

I believe the Mannimaro met in Oblivion is a the mortal/lich in mortal form from one of the timelines where Mannimaro wasn't given the Mantella. Of course because everything did and didn't happen that means that Mannimaro also exists as the Necromancers Moon. So Mannimaro is both dead yet not dead. His mortal form is destroyed by the Hero of Kvatch and his other form is sort of in the position of the Aedra, except a bit weaker perhaps? After all he can only influence the world every couple of days.

"So Mannimarco is both dead and not dead" : he is then the Lich of Schrödinger. Only direct observation makes his wavefunction collapse and reveals to the player (or NPC) his current state. I may be paying attention to unnecessary details, but I seem to greatly enjoy the lack of introduction in all your videos I've seen so far.
