Google/Alphabet might be behind in terms of consumer product roll out, but in terms of applying AI in the sciences they are clearly in the lead.

agi is nice and all, but I literally can't wait for AI that can help with chores and paperwork. I had a small auto-accident the other day and dealing with insurance companies is madness. Would love an AI that can handle even just half the tasks. Same with paying bills, booking doctors, doing taxes, etc etc.

@19:18 "-due to a few reddit comments." I'mma hafta call you out on this, chief. This is the PR of Alphabet talking on the incorrect answers, but the image generation mess-ups were entirely Google's fault. You didn't account for the image generation screw ups of Gemini. The reason behind that is they were so caught up in their ideological echo-chamber, they overcompensated with Gemini by making it so anti-racist and ended up going full racist, resulting in generating 'diverse' images of the Founding Fathers of America and 'culturally enriched and inclusive' WW2 soldiers of African and Asian descent... but wearing the bad guys' uniforms.

The audacity to come up on stage and talk about AI planning your vacation in a country where 43% people can't afford plane tickets, hasn't been on vacation for 10 years. I want AI to filter, manage and summarize corpo emails, create keypoints from useless meetings, handle my monthly payments and subscriptions, NOT paint pictures and plan vacation I can't afford.

Google is failing in the same way that Microsoft is failing. They are trying to bind AI to their specific ecosystem. They will lose that race because there are much wiser companies like Anthropic that are making their AI agents able to operate the computer itself, they aren't limiting it to specific browsers, or Microsoft applications. Google has been playing catchup since OpenAI took off though honestly. Their CEO is asleep at the wheel.
