This is a great example of a film that uses it's budget to it's upmost benefit. They don't use it on big star power or over the top special effects, but instead use it for authentic production design and disturbing practical effects. This really brings you into the time period, and it never lets you go.

I know I’m going to have to rewatch this again to rewatch it. It’s sad the horror doesn’t get recognized by the Oscars, even the cinematography should get a nomination or something.

This was a great horror film. As a standalone film it was great. Perhaps those questions about connecting it with the original are actually not as bad as critics make out. The question of the jacket was always vague in the original. You can’t trust the source of a madman priest who’s trying to redeem himself. His character portrayal answered fresh questions about his involvement in the first place. What I’d like to know is, how does the twin child play a part in the overall Omen franchise and where does the daggers fit in to all of this?

What I want to tell these people is.." get over yourself, I did not pay to see whether or not you are brave or get scared, I came to see what is on the screen. Either shut the fuck up, or go home, but ... keep your shit to yourself" lol... i hope, the next Omen movie they do would be a REMAKE of the THIRD movie....The Final Conflict. despite the excellent casting of Sam Neill as the adult Damien, that movie really killed the franchise for a time...and kinda ruined the anticipation of the Damine finale...after the first two movies. especially, since this movie is set in the same period, the 70s. so, it makes sense to remake the Final Conflict movie and also set it as a.... okay, let's see....if the first original movie was set in 76, the second (tho made in 78) would've taken place in the mid-80s, maybe 1985-6...with Damien being a teenager and all. the ADULT Damien (in his early to mid 30s) story should be set around late 90s to early 2000s. so, it would be a "period" piece taking place in the beginning of the new millennium...which sounds perfect. let's make this happen.

Waited all weekend for this one Stinks this fell to 4th place at the box office Happy to say though this movie was very good whew The filmmakers manage to make the movie stand on its own terms without blatantly resembling the original There's minor callbacks here and there but it's really about this young woman dealing with her possible hysteria interfering with her godly duties Nell Tiger Free gives a fantastic, gut-wrenching performance being appropriately conflicted There's a heavy dose of atmosphere, gnarly-looking visuals, and some truly memorable sequences adding to the grotesque body horror It's incredible that director Arkasha Stevenson was able to pull off as much as she did particularly with one scene so graphic she avoided an NC-17 rating And when they do explain the reasoning for this unholy birth taking place it totally turns everything around To them this rising of the son of the devil might be the answer to send the ignorant back to their faith, making change without resorting to violence, erase the need for secularism wiping the slate clean as it were, how do we control people who no longer believe (by creating something to fear) There's also subtle comments and motifs on women's reproductive rights and bodily autonomy in the name of the holy word being quite contemporary The first film is superior in many ways and this does take a while to get going being 2 hours but I'm so thankful this one created a very good bridge to what was established prior while still being an effective religious horror tale Skipped all the other sequels including the remake And I didn’t even know about the short lived tv series on A&E, that got terrible reviews too

The Omen Franchise as a whole is good,... even if the third had a goofy scene or two. By the time you get to three, there is plenty of Horrifying back story that the audience wants to see resolved, since all the prior movies are pointing to the events in third. Never saw " awakening" so cannot speak on it. Just as an aside, but.... a charismatic political candidate exploiting religious fanatics to ride into the white house that uses his wealth and privilige to .... The first jump scare looked like an exact replica of the nun. And for that, they lingered on the thing that was clearly going to be a ghost for an eternity. Same with the guy walking backward into a street. Its like, well we know whats about to happen. That first 1/3rd was pretty rough to stay engaged with, even if the club scene made more sense later on. There were some things i really loved though. The shot when shes floating through the hallway, her convulsing when going into labor, and the length of it was so cool. The birth made the whole theater laugh. It looked goofy. There were maybe a couple of other neat parts, but everything else was a little too on the nose or slow for my liking.

i enjoyed it, and i was curious on how'd they get to the original omen from here. They also did what Immaculate tried to do, but better with that one story element about births.

This movie felt like a wasted opportunity to me. Some great creepy moments but overall kind of slow and the plot and reasoning for producing the antichrist didn’t make sense. If the beast or whatever is a physical being that exists then the church can just put it on display. No need for this antichrist rigamarole. B- or C+ imo. It really could’ve been great though.

I didn't even know there was a new Omen movie coming. I saw the trailer for Immaculate a while back and thought from the thumbnail and first 5 minutes that this was it.

Not sure if I like this over Immaculate. I feel slighted. The holes in the story and conflated narrative and that stupid breakdancing ish that went on for too long… idk. This one could’ve been amazing.

I will say there are some Continuity errors with the first movie that I wasn’t a huge fan of, but I really enjoyed this movie, and that one scene they’re talking about, I’m shocked, a major motion picture studio could release that with an R, especially one owned by Disney
