The thing that always bothered me the most, was that you could set off an explosion (C4/drone/whatever) and not be anywhere near the explosion, and the whole enemy base would know exactly where you were, instantly. Mortars presighted on your exact coords and start shelling while never seeing you.

I played this game as basically "Baby's First Arma Coop". My friends who were not patient/hardcore enough to do autistically authentic Arma PVE ops (and didn't have the 4+ hours to do a proper one) would be able to play this with me. We could still LARP as operators and all that, but no missions needed to be edited, modlist downloaded, or insane control schemes using every key needing to be learned (wildlands just has generic third person shooter controls), nor did they need to be autistic knowers of esoteric military knowledge like how does lasing a target or reading the range lines on a Specter DR4 scope work. As a casual normies alternative to army man larp coop when you don't have the autism for Arma, Wildlands is king! Super underrated. Turn off hud and install the first person mod and it goes to a whole other level!

I'm 68 years old and I've been playing "Wildlands" solo since it came out. I play it at least twice a week. I play on the most difficult mode without my AI companions and on the most difficult Tier 1 Mode. I create my own scenarios, which are endless. I play only Open World games, but "Wildlands" is my favorite. I do play it on the Xbox Series X and not the computer. My wish is that Ubisoft updated the game and added a Zombie mode, but I'm sure nothing like that will ever happen. One of the things I like to do is find secret places to hide where the enemy can't get to you, fly my drone out blow them up and also get the Rebels, Cartel and Unidad all fighting each other at the same time. I have created some crazy battles. The map size is massive, 640 Square Kilometers, (247 Square Miles). Something like 8.5 times larger than the GTA5 map. I love this game so much, but I also love playing my 2020 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles full size Pinball Machine. I'm a kid at heart and refuse to ever grow-up. If you're playing without the HUD (or Minimal HUD) I highly suggest the mod that removes detection blips and hitmarker sounds. Because otherwise the detection beeps get in the way of the enemies diegetic alert barks. And also the lack of non-diegetic hit-feedback gives you those really cool moments where you just magdump through an enemy's soft cover or concealment and just hope for the best. Personally I also prefer it how much brutal it becomes without the game giving any extra fanfare for shooting somebody.

I actually am currently doing a play through of this game again after a long break. I’m playing on extreme difficulty, which means the enemies are supposed to be better skilled, aware and lethal. And yes, if you start a loud assault they can down you with just a few bullets. But if you go silent… If I sneak, the enemies won’t see me until I’m within 30m, and that is with them looking directly at me. It’s a visually stunning game and there is a lot of well done work put into it. But it still has some major flaws, sadly. If only it was possible to mod it. It’s still way better than Breakpoint, although that isn’t a high bar to beat. Edit: just found out there is mods for it, but none that really fixes the major issues

Ghost recon Wildland was fun because of the potential for chaotic gameplay. It's like a military version of GTA, without the over the top cartoony madness of a Just Cause series (though it can come close at times). For some reason though, I haven't been able to truly replicate the same level of chaotic fun in Breakpoint. It had its moment, but for a lack of better word, it felt more.. sterile. Maybe it has something to do with the setting and the theme where everything is about high tech engagement vs fighting against a bunch of criminal pendejos, but it just didn't feel the same.

I genuinely have alot of time for this game. I was late to the party, started playing about 2 years ago. I just love the game. Loads of replay value. The sync shot thing is great. Really allows for different approaches to each mission. This is defo my goto game.

I need to revisit this game. Completed it with minimap assist but turn that off and its so much more challenging. Also whats cool is using skins from other games, I was rocking the skin from The Division.

I love Wildlands and Breakpoint so much The next open-world GR should combine the environments of Wildlands and the gunplay of Breakpoint, that would be the perfect GR game for me (and without the, at times, mind-numbing repetition)

I wish they made a 60fps patch for next gen consoles...
