If there's anything my friends and I have learned the hard way in dating, it is that men that don't make the effort initially(plan the date, insist on paying, open doors, etc) are ones that will stay that way and make you suffer in a relationship. They are "below bare minimum effort men" and seek women who will do most of the work and won't ever appreciate these women.

Hey Elise. Just a little FYI when painting...... always put a white primer or white base coat. The wood is as if you are painting over a tan or brown, which changes the true color of what you have chosen. That is why it dried darker. So proud of you and all you have accomplished through all the trials and hardships. Be Blessed!

Elise your videos are always good. I’m sorry you’re feeling poorly and pray you feel better soon. Don’t rush into doing anything and allow your body to heal. I love those green dishes you took out of your cabinet. As for your paint color on your table you will pick the right one. These colors pick up some of the colors in the pictures you have against the wall. A skylight will bring nice light into the room. Good on you sticking to your ideal. Relationships are a very personal thing and open ones are not for everybody. As you get older a person wants more in life, a partner that has the same needs as you will come into your life at the right time. Be true to yourself always. I have a dark wood dining set right next to a picture window, so I can appreciate your comment. It wouldn't hurt to wait, but I know that Elise can come up with some really creative options, although I don't agree with every choice she has made. It's always enjoyable to see how it all ends up.

I know it's her house and she don't care about my oppinion. However she keeps changing her mind of what she wants. She buys furnitures and paints them then 6 monthes later she has a different idea and sells them. Now she bought a table she wants to paint and put in a skylight. I think with prober lighting the dinningroom would be fine without a skylight. It won't add any value to the house if she wants to sell it.

I think you should perhaps wait until your sky lights are in before deciding on a colour. I actually like the wood as is and maybe a runner or table cloth in a similar colour could serve as a temporary solution to see if you can live with it xx

The big picture of tulips in the gold frame has some great colours for your sitting room. Your sofa has some reddish undertones in it, that's why the redder sample works better than the purplish one. Try looking at the rusty red side of burgundy. A soft white like your fireplace used as a contrast design on top would soften the expanse. Perhaps different sized lacy stencils randomly placed. You could copy or reverse the colours on a sideboard. Artist with adhd here. Forgive the stream of ideas. You know what works for you.❤

Elise, I also would suggest a primer first to neutralize the dark wood. I would also suggest that you might want to wait until the skylight is in since you mentioned the difference of tones closer or further from the window light. Also have you considered how the color will look with the wood of your chairs? I can definitely sense your excitement for redecorating so be sure to think out your long term goals. Some thoughts on the open wall: consider removing the door and instead hang vintage fabric draperies across the open doorway to close the opening for any drafts, etc. That would open up the usable wall area for the art and future furniture installments. The fabric could be either solid or vintage design and even changed out for winter/summer. Color paint: Look at colors used in your favorite art pieces for inspiration. Get well.

The paint is drying darker as you should always use a primer on wood, dry then apply your paint color and it will dry its true color. Welll, that color really clashes with your couch in a baddd way. 😢sorry. You videos are always enjoyable, please don’t ever feel like they are boring sweetie. One thing that I've been doing a lot recently with my artwork is using a color wheel when I get stumped on color. You could check and see what is compatible with rust a gold tones. My guess is probably a deep, warm egg plant color. Your home is looking so beautiful and cozy!

Agree with comment about the more reddish tone and the ivory paint choice especially since your brick wall has that undertone, and puple might conflict. If you go lighter, it will also brighten up your darker dining area and bring out the chairs more

When I was in my mid-20s I decided I was going to date more like guys do and not tie myself down to one guy. That lasted about two weeks and then I met my husband. 😂 That was 37 years ago, we've been married 35 years. So much for playing the field! In all seriousness, though, I think having a more laid-back "I'm just in it for fun" outlook helped me to relax and maybe not have as much of an "I need to find Mr. Right RIGHT NOW" aura. Or... maybe it was just the right time/right place. Who knows? Whatever it was ... it worked.

There are other options using tablecloths, runners, placemats, etc.for many different colors during seasons and holidays. That way your dinnerware, flowers and such can cordinate better. I think your table would be beautiful in white paint, then distressed. It would brighten up the space along with the skylight. You could then change out table runners and decor with different color schemes and items for the pop of color and interest, without the commitment.
