its because with the way this game is set up and its mechanics, its actually objectively impossible for Dhalsim to be a good character so its sadly not even worth discussing, and thats on Capcom. If they dont seriously make some MEANINGFUL changes to the system mechanics like drive rush, this will be the legacy if this game, a game where certain characters can't be allowed to be good and no characters' unique styles or movesets matter whatsoever and theres one way to play. I love sf6 but it could be so much better and more interesting if individuality actually mattered. Imagine how awesome Dhalsim could be if, he were exactly how he is, but they just took drive rush and crap out of the game?

I don't play Honda but it seems that Honda got some pretty good buffs and is at least mid tier? Chinese player Qiuqiu recently picked up Honda and won a tournament beating Vxbao and Zhen. And Vxbao also started to use Honda for matches after that

He mentions that Lily is decent and then mentions how she has problems with fireball drive rush. So, most of the top tiers then. Her worst matchup is probably Dhalsim as well. She is bottom 2. He made 1800 with her, but that is because of his own individual skill, and i think there would be a fear factor in play as well, with the opponent knowing who they are fighting.

All Jamie needed was to start at level one with no damage nerf, gaining 3.33% per drink to max drink level 3. make rekka an actual useable stagger, drink grab, cmp 5f, mk 8-9f so that he can link off a max range counter hit punish cmp, also od palm should be plus and the normal palms should be -5 and actualy space out even when canceled off certain buttons like mk and hk.

Seems like a great list, the only one I would point out is Chun, she has to press 1293217 inputs to do half of what others character will do. To me she seems impossible to bring far in a tournament when you have characters that require less brain power....but then again I'm not a pro ahaha. Just my 2 cent to add a comment here.

​@@Talking_Edthere is the conventional routes, like using fireballs to make pure brawlers jump over to take advantage of, though most characters on hers have amazing shimmying routes, so yeah it places him on the backfoot a tad but he's still secretly top tier. He's always been. If one thing I've noticed about using him is the patience and convulsive timing to turn any match around. His winrate is pretty good and he has like tons of entries in tournaments. I was surprised when Paladin beat Punk using Ryu at world warrior but you know, if you're good you're good, just gotta find your favorite characters groove and duck and jive

But bad fireball + slow-ish move speed makes it such a pain against some kind of players. Pro can do it well but I'm a damn scrub just wish some of his tools were a bit better!

"somebody is gonna be bad"... not necessarily. "worst character in the game" in a good balanced game can be completely meaningless. saying different stuff is just missleading people and won't stop inflating the game with "top tiers" in ranked, even at beginner levels. do tiers in this game even matter for like 1800 to 2000 mr or even higher, but outside of big tournaments? and then tournaments are just different than ranked or casuals anyways, since you can't really afford to lose in pools because of character inconsistency. when the nature of your character will let you win more, but also lose here and there since it's high risk/high reward, it automatically is less good for tournaments but maybe best for ranked. so it's often not even possible to really have only one tierlist for ranked and tournaments, that is accurate in both cases. and even at very high levels of play, player inconsistency is crazy and character strenghts/weaknesses apply in different ways for different players.

Her built in cross up move should get enhanced too, let us choose to do the crossup kick or go into nothing for mix, sort of like Akuma's options when he leaps. no....they put waaayyy to much weight on his lvl 2 in regards to his placement imo. I think its kinda ridiculous ppl call him #1 cuz of his lvl 2. All you gotta do is parry and take a throw. In the evo finals Punk basically nullified Big Birds level 2 literally multiple times to where he got nothing off of it. Rashids annoying to play against but ive never bought into him being #1. I think its like alotta things, somebody with some influence said this then it just became a trend to say and portray. Just like Kizzie's channel here, dude prolly aint even played Rashid but when these ppl say Rashid is #1 he's just like "oh yea fo sho, you know, that level 2!!"

Interesting convo for sure. I'd say nowhere near top 1, but he's still top tier without level 2. Rashid Level 2 is objectively the best single move in the game and it lets you not play the game, instead it plays the game for you. However, Rashid's level 2 is beatable, look at Punk's display to counterplay that with his fighting game awareness and iQ. Oh and also M. Bison Ex psycho crusher can go through it.

It's interesting how tournament tier lists don't reflect online Master league play, where Dhalsim has the best overall win record and Ken is 10th. Really wish they'd buff the lower characters though. Honda, Jaime, Terry just aren't good enough, and Chun/Dhalsim take way too much effort to be good with. And they can nerf Rashid into the ground imo, sick of facing Marvel characters in my SF game

its because with Dhalsim, its a combination of knowledge checks and low usage that creates a high percentage. I dont know the actual %s but lets pretend Sim has a 65% win rate and Ken has a 45% win rate....it doesnt mean anything because there are still 10x the AMOUNT of Kens winning compared to Sims. To put in laymens terms...if 10 ppl play sim and 6 of em win, but 100 ppl play Ken and 40 of em win....whats that saying about how good sim is compared to Ken? Thats right, NOTHING. Since no one plays Sim, the very very few that do have a better win % because no one knows the matchup because they basically have no need to know the matchup or invest time into it when they know they will likely only face Sim a couple times out of every 100 matches

Everyone of those data charts just proves all characters have a balanced win rate against each other. Ken is only that strong and consistently comes out top 8 in tournament results compared to online even in higher levels around 1800-1900MR.

@ Ironically Ken is only in top 5 in everyone’s tier lists in America and other western countries. In Japan Ken is weaker than westerners exaggerate. Mago a pro Juri from Japan doesn’t even think Ken was top 5 instead just a solid viable high tier character and thought Juri was mid tier. Daigo dropped Ken and Tokido is the only one vouching Ken in top 5. The Japanese thought ED was the most broken character in the game and thought Cammy was better than Ken And the fact that Japan is a stronger region and market more sales so it could explain why those characters were nerfed hard while Ken got away with insignificant nerfs you wanted. It also could be why we aren’t getting content either and the game is stale. I honestly had no idea Ken was still complained about this much as he’s so much easier to deal with now since you fight him so much it should be EZ wins. He’s “flowchart Ken” afterall. Even at highest levels online and Ken isn’t the best, he’s consistently top 8, yet not the winner, most used character, not the most legends ranked characters, most used character, perfectly balanced w/l ratio online along with every character further proving the game is balanced. And he Hasn’t won a major tournament since. What about this makes him #1 in the game despite all these flaws? Who knows just because he’s popular and over represented and the odds are stacked but there’s still a chance Juri may be a million dollar character again and you know iDom hates that character lmao. Your real issue should be the game’s design and drive system and I assure you that Ken players only play Ken because the roster is so lackluster instead of simply because he’s busted, why play anyone else when you have the most swag and flamboyant combos in the game? Half of the Ken players including some pros are really waiting for their mains to return.

because it has worked all the way up to now...Ken is still the best character with some of the most minimal nerfs, so for whatever the reason their massive downplay has paid off....whereas with Rashid, everyone is saying hes #1 when hes really not, until he gets nerfed while Ken will still be sitting pretty. Theres no way in hell Rashid is the #1 character in the game, its just trendy to say that and its literally based on his lvl 2 super alone which is MASSIVELY overstated. So in reality, I dont think the Rashid players keeping quiet is winning, you dont want your character considered #1. And even if tier lists are subjective to an extent and #1s can be debated, Ken is easily the easiest character to consider #1, yet none of these lists put him at #1. Ken mains are for sure winning the battle unfortunately

Guile is hard to nerf as it literally can destroy his play style. Buffs either overpower the f*** out of him and nerfs render him bottom tier. I would LOVE to see them give Zangief the ability to hit behind him with his spinning turnbuckle. On a side note, Capcom should come out with players that people do not have to pay for. Maybe one every half a year. Give people a reason to be happy to have bought the base game or to want to buy the base game. Dan, Rose and Sakura come to mind. For Dan, I would have him gimped but use meter at half cost. Rose is Rose, leave her mostly as is. For Sakura, have her grown up and evolve her moves a bit (a mix of Chun-Li and Shoto if you will)

How much did you pay idom to say your main is mid tier, cuz you know Dee Jay never stopped the robbery train. With Chun Li you have to apply the shoto tax and then some. You could play Chun, or you could play Akuma, Guile, Ed, Cammy, Luke, and have an easier time with all of them. How many people would play Guile if he wasn't a top tier? When you could just play Akuma instead? That's Chun Li. She also has a horrible Bison matchup and struggles into some of the top tiers, although to her credit she does decent into Ken and Rashid.

I don't even play honda and I know what your talking about. That standing medium punch is so good now. It is 10 frames, plus on block, special cancellable, and has fantastic reach for a medium button. Came across a honda main at 1800mr who ran my pockets with that nonsense you call a button 😅

I think it's fine for Marisa to work like that. Simple high-damage offense, but with weaknesses keeping her out of the higher tiers, a Juggernaut style character.

i think shea fine against most characters without projectiles....its just that every non-projectile and/or non inv. DP character is at a massive disadvantage in this game to the ones that do. Every top tier character has these things except maybe Bison, and he only makes the cut because his damage, normals, and drive rush are so ridiculous they make up for it.

Mostly agree, though I think Honda is a little higher, he got some good buffs and he's won some recent tournies. Balance could be improved but its still very good for a fighter. Nobody is really C tier or below, it goes from OK to S tier, that's a very good sign. All characters feel capable.

SIM is bottom 1. i think whatever cutoff we have on tiers, he's a full tier below the 2nd worst character. he can't function in a game where everything can be perfect parried into a drc into a 50% combo. if he ever gets good, he'll be labbed to death

@ There are Sims in Legend, if he was as bad as you say that wouldn't be possible. I'm not saying he's amazing but its usable at least. You can succeed. Now whether or not you can win money with him that's a different story but for what he is he's not that bad.

TLDR. Lily is the worst character in this game period. In what world does cr.hp the character place higher on a tier list then Jamie, Honda, Dhalsim, and even Marisa. There is no other character that gets countered by system mechanics harder than lily. She literally cannot play the game when the opponent has drive gauge. And even when she's allowed to play, everyone (except honda) on the ok tier does her only gimmick (condor spire) better than her in multiple ways. Jamie's breakdance/dive kick, Marisa's phalanx/gladios, and Dhalsim's teleport/slide kick are all better versions than the best move (other than cr.hp) in lily's kit. All of this with mid damage ouput from terrible combos and an overreliance on stocks. I don't mean to say all of this in bad spirit. I'm just genuinely confused on why everyone says she's good, and then I dont see any lily players at all.

Consistency. When LV2 is on the screen, Rashid is the best character in the game, and how long does it last? 10 seconds? Once, maybe twice per fight? The rest of the time Rashid is just mid. It's not like Ken, who is strong during the entire match.

exactly, im tired of hearing Rashid be called #1, its ridiculous....its just the trendy thing to do. Also like i just said in another comment....who all watched Evo finals? Punk managed to nullify Big Birds lvl 2 MULTIPLE times to where bird either gor NOTHING or very little off of it. Rashid aint #1 in the game, i dont care what anyone says. Ken has a way better argument for #1 along with Akuma....hell Gief has a better argument for #1 than Rashid does lol. Lvl 2 is massively over stated

And as we know Ken is the most criminally downplayed AND under-nerfed character in the game, meanwhile, they've been systematically breaking down the very essence of Cammy since the very first patch yet all these fools were calling her #1, 2, or 3 before this last patch because it became impossible to lie about it anymore at that point and its just ridiculous. Cammy is easily a bottom half character and Ken is easily #1 or #2 at worst depending on perspective. Jinrai kicks are some of the most broken ish in the game and you see even in pro matches that come down to the wire, Ken just starts throwing them out and hes gonna catch em one way or the other. Ppl make all these videos on how to deal with em...but it doesnt matter, theres a reason even the best players in the world lose rounds to jinrai kicks on a consistant basis

Because swapping onto Rashid isn't as easy as swapping onto Bison. People did swap onto Rashid, but that was before Akuma came out. Not everyone hopped on the Gief train when he was one of the best in the game either, player comfort on their character matters and Rashid or Gief aren't for everybody compared to Akuma or Ken.

I think its accurate for the tippy top of players who don't give Jaime an inch, but for anyone who isn't playing for money even in Masters I agree with you he's pretty good. OKI isn't everything given what he gets.

And that should b imo the ONLY criteria, cuz if u see someone like boltstrike or flaquito playing godlike and still not getting the smallest result in tournaments, then it comes down to a character problem. It took me almost one year to get to master rank with Jamie, wherease i picked akuma last week and I went from plat to diamond easy.

Most of these tier lists seem really lazy. No one changes their opinion based on the actual changes. They just keep the same characters up top and the same characters at the bottom. Honda is a good example.

A part of the reason why is because the changes tend to either be a slap on the wrist to good characters or capcom throwing a bone to bad characters. Akuma is a good example. He had his backwards walk speed nerfed, but it's still alright. The forward m.k added a frame of cool down on whiff and some landing lag when canceling demon raid into nothing, which both of those ended up being nothing. The good characters that are impacted are like Ed in this patch, and JP, Deejay, Blanka, in previous ones. Basically lame characters die, and the oppressive rushdown/hit-n-run characters that are either "fragile" or "weak" don't really get changed because they are cool. If they did updates that really needed and buffed characters, it would become smash ultimate. They nerfed the top tiers (joker, wario, zss, cool characters) and buffed some "bad" characters that weren't that bad (sonic, corrin, ryu, annoying characters). Lame people being better and the counterplay against them being nerfed led to lame people replacing cool people, and a bunch of players left because it's not fun anymore with lame people.
