Great video, I finally understand the hands interlocked grip is not fingered And is wrist based to make it stronger. Also, the waist lock by shorter guy and using head to push the solar plexus and lower waist arms lock, taller guy using head to push shoulder From TOP and Low waist grip by hands to take down is good. Also change angle and position if dead lock by both parties. Finally the grips should be strong enough to break the posture. I think these points are Quite applicable and relevant to Muay Thai clinching.

Interesting one. I've never seen it before, despite being that simple. The closest thing I've seen was someone hugging another person (belly to belly), lifting him up, and quickly sliding his arms down from the lower back to the hips in order to throw him. I think that's also Greco-Roman wrestling. The best understanding of broken body structure for throws I've seen was in Systema, Silat, and Shastarvidya. (LOL, all start with S)

That pushing in that pushing in the back/pulling on the head move near the beginning of the video, isn't that more about providing a fulcrum near the centre of mass to rotate around by pulling the head (or shoulder but then he might rotate out of it by rotating along his vertical axis as well)? So, rather than putting much power in moving the opponent, you want to keep a strong frame? I'm no wrestler but I like how wrestling is such a nice application of mechanics 🙂

What is more- it is natural way of taking people down. It is so natural in fact, that i started doing this, without even being shown this technique- sort of just started to work itself out, when in clinch. Like my body knew without me even thinking about it. The twisting the head was another, that i just sort of worked myself out- there were things, that i had to polish, of course, like frst thing i did was press the guys head to my chest and twisting his head with my forearms, when he was in front of me, but i could adjust during session and take people down on first tries- part of it, i admit comes from the fact, i am heavier, than most, and can muscle through some, but i already was going in right direction I always have been huge fan of things, that sort of come to people naturally- part of it comes from the fact, that those kind of habits only needs to be "cleaned out"(from unecessary movements for example), rather than overwritten, and partially, because i know i will not hurt myself doing it, if it feels "right"(i move in a way, that makes my body feel comfortable)

With my limited experience I would suggest, that you start with boxing and bjj, having tried both muy thai (6 years) and boxing (1/2 year) i believe you get a slightly better understanding of positioning your self with boxing, and later you can transition toy muy thai and still keep most of the training from boxing as it is still applicable. Dont thing muy thai is just boxing with kicks and elbows, its not, but a lot of the boxing training is applicable for muy thai while the reverse isnt quite true

Hello Ramsey. I'm looking to start training in wrestling, and am wondering if there are any benefits to leading with your left leg instead of your right one in wrestling and judo? I started martial arts with Thai Kickboxing, where I had an orthodox stance; I noticed that when I do Jiu Jitsu I always lead with my left leg. But I noticed that in wrestling and judo most athletes are right leg leads, is there an advantage? Why would the matchup play out between a left vs right leg lead? Love your channel by the way, keep making your amazing content

@RamseyDewey
@RamseyDewey 3 жыл бұрын
No, you won’t break anyone’s neck doing that. If you want to learn neck breaking techniques, I have a number of videos on that topic. I don’t train belts. I train human beings. And as far as that Muay Thai foot sweep from a side headlock goes, no one wears a belt in Muay Thai.
