One of the best in the series. The homeowner, Penny, was so excited, it made the entire dig so personal for all of us watching vicariously. The way the team humored her, touched me deeply. They had seen so many ruins before but they allowed her excitement to flourish and reveled in her happiness which bled off onto us as we watched. There are quite a few dear people on the Time Team. Thank you for not pushing Penny to the side. It was the first time I felt like we were ALL “Penny archeologists”right there with you. 🌺🌸

I keep thinking about how, if it were my garden, could I keep it unburied and be able to show visitors, make it part of the garden. Retaining wall and a fire pit, but I think drainage might have proved a stumbling block being so deep and near the river.

they had so many homeowners on this show who winced at getting a tiny hole in their lawn, and then here is Penny who begs them to dig up the whole place. She's got the right attitude - grass is easily replaced, but the history that may lie beneath it is invaluable and must be uncovered.

My Grandfather was a brick layer from Ipswich. He came to Canada and some of the buildings he built are upwards of 100 years old now and still in use. He was known for his skill in building curved walls and archways. There is a brick church he was involved in building that is still in use today that is absolutely beautiful with his work on the archways and windows and interior treatments. Watching this show of how brick can stand for centuries when built by craftsmen makes me even more impressed by the skill of my Grandad.

Really wonderful to see the owner in so much of the episode. Penny is one special character. Full of both enthusiasm and fun. I thought it was wonderful to her getting on with everyone as though she had been with the team for some time. The episode would be more than enough with just the history coming to light. But with Penny in the mix, I think that will mark this as one of my favourites. Excellent.

@@williambodin5359 Farnham is a Castle in the market town of “Farnham, Surrey” (very close to where the woman [Penny] lives), the reason why they mention the building is because of its late medieval brick gatehouse that dates to around 1470; her late medieval gatehouse was constructed at some point between 1462-1472 (making it slightly older). Interestingly there are actually quite a few older brick palaces in England outside of Surrey (which is of course also famed for containing Hampton Court), a few examples being: - “Herstmonceux Castle” in the neighbouring county of East Sussex; built between 1441-1449 (this very grand building stands in its entirety today and is surrounded by a working moat). - “Tattershall Castle” further North in Lincolnshire; built during the 1430s (the huge Great Tower also stands in its entirety along with further outbuildings and a working moat). - “Caister Castle” just south of Tattershall in Norfolk; also built in the 1430s (today the building is mostly in ruin, but the Rapunzelesque Tower still stands and overlooks yet another working moat).

There is a lot history in the US.... Just not really whole lot structure at least in the US to find easily. There are several old sites. Like the Navaho, the mound culture of the Mississippi river center around Missouri, and Illinois, Puebloan buildings. East coast Native Americans built log buildings won't find much evidence for them in ground much like the Iron age round houses.

I made the same comment! Would love to see these now! I expect the spot is a Patio with a Canopy/Roof, like a sort of a Gazebo, or Veranda. A place to lounge, have Tea or Cocktails and even have a table for Dining outdoors, during entertaining and cookout. A true "Garden Party" spot. I can imagine it having vines, shrubs, and flowers planted around it, a bird-bath and Hummingbird Feeders. Complete with exterior lighting, it would make for a beautiful experience for "the senses" and, of course, there will always be the conversation around the History, *"Both that of the Original Builder and era", and that of "Penny and Phil digging it" + validated by an entire Time Team Episode for viewing"!* Talk about Archaeology offering "a Now Expierence of enjoying the living in/on the History". This is a rare opportunity to experience, as *"the greater portion of Archaeology Digs end up being: Catalogued and Boxed in a Museum Basement collecting dust, back-filled, or Lost in time without records".* Each time I watch this episode, it draws my mind to the "Universal Law of Attraction", that absolute law that's proven through Quantum Physics Science which states: *Thoughts + Feelings + Focus* *X Belief* = *our "Manifested Reality"* ( Thoughts/Feelings = Energy, the Energy Vibrates on a Frequency, and the Positive or Negative Value of the Frequency "Attracts like Energies") One can't help but notice, *"the Abundant Positive Energies that Illuminate and Flow from Penny in each scenario of this episode she's in", and "her delight in living the experiences with appreciation".* Without personally knowing her, I'm drawn to the desire to know what she did and how each chapter of the Home/Property evolved since the filming of her Home. It is by far the most delicious experience of all of the "Time Team" episodes I've viewed. I can imagine most all the Audience of "Time Team" Collectively Requesting a "Current Update" and it being a Record Viewing for the *"New Time Team"* show they are planning to launch. "Ask and ye Shall Receive!" ...a truly Divine Design of Our Universe! (Art: Painting, Design, and Decor happen to be natural gifts I came into this world with. I'm most appreciative of these, and we each have some form of Creative, it is in whatever our Passions are. Whether a mechanic that does craftsmanship under the hood of a car, a Salesperson that designs the project of a client's needs, or an Artist that applies paint to canvas, We each have something within that is our 3D Creative, and I feel when we are in thought planning the or in action doing these, that's when our "Frequency is at one of its Highest Positive points", and then "We are truly Attractung our Desires into our Reality") Penny did/does this with perfection! *Maybe an email to "Time Team" will get the Thought in motion. We must experience the enjoyment of the viewing/hearing of the follow-up!* Beth Tennessee, USA 🌿🌎🌱 PS: In the USA we only use the word "Garden" for the areas that are planted with Flowers, shrubs, or Vegetables. The word we use to describe the areas around a Home with grass that is mowed are "lawn or yard". I've noticed that in Great Britain its referred to a Garden. Confused me until I realized the reference accurately. 😘

@@tadcastertory1087 I thought you were making things up because I´ve never heard of the name Rainbow or Regenboog in Dutch. Just checked. There were 66 people with the last name of Rainbow in the last census. Learn something new everyday. I´m now going to look for someone with that last name to marry, because that would be so much fun :)

It was the personal accessibility of the regulars, their extraordinary powers of observation and deduction and the ensemble brilliantly choreographed by Sir Tony that made the show a must-see for years. Concerning this featured dig, I can't help but be mindful of a degree of unashamed flirting in the scene starting at 37.17. I feel a fan-fiction coming on.

Whilst we give accolades to everyone on the show I'd just like to point out how talented the camera crew at their job. If you pause the video at 40:09 the camera person highlights the majestic spirit of Mick who is immortalised in these episodes for us to enjoy eternally. It's quite the portrait of our favourite photogenic Mad Professor.

My most favorite Time Team ever!!! Everything the very earliest of Tudor times revealed, and how the best archaeology showed through and won the day with incredible accuracy, ALL of it speaks to me as much as to Waynflete Tower's owner, Penny. I believe she was THE person to take custody and help recover the building locations around her sublime home! It all feels quite mystical!

Would love the TT to re visit Pennys beautiful home to see what she has done. Thank you Penny and thank you TT. 💕💕
