I could watch your tulips be harvested all day! Your poor back! You're probably well conditioned for it but my goodness, my back hurts from planting up my 5x8 raised bed! I just get an inkling of how physically demanding your job is and i sure do appreciate you sharing it with us.

I have heard of treating tulips as annuals but curious about the seven year rotation you mentioned. I haven’t heard this before, could you tell us why/more? Thanks for sharing all of your expertise! 😊

Curious, Why can’t you plant for seven years in the same place. I haven’t heard of this before, and how does that affect tulips that you leave in the ground-Meaning tulips planted in garden beds to enjoy and not cut.

I was wondering that too! I've never heard of that.

When using tulips for cut flowers, there are none left in the ground. The tulips are harvested and stored with the bulb attached. The bulb is cut off when the bouquets are put together before delivery. I have always rotated my tulip beds too, I do it for soil health.

It looked like she was pulling the bulb out of the ground along with the flower so I don't think she's leaving anything behind. As for the 7 years thing - I was wondering that too. I'm thinking it's in order to avoid certain soil-borne pests/disease.

I think it’s crop rotation - the practice of planting different crops sequentially on the same plot of land to improve soil health, optimize nutrients in the soil, and combat pest and weed pressure.

Nicole , quick Tulip question. If you pick the tulip in ‘ color crack ‘ stage how long does it take to fully color up? And will it do that in the cooler or does it need to be left out?

Today is Teacher Appreciation Day so I made bouquets with tall bearded iris, ranunculus, anemone and the very last tulips, some fringed ones. Gotta love cool, coastal, northern California zone 9b. Watching other folks challenges remind me of growing in Wisconsin for years. I enjoy your whole process. Thanks

You are THE BEST! I'm just dealing with all of this today - orders for tonight, orders for Mother's Day, trying to get the timing right, 🤯. Mine looked just a TINY bit less open than yours, so it sounds like I should harvest this evening or tomorrow morning and then chill until Mother's Day. I'm guessing give a full 24 hours before pickup to snip the bulbs, wrap, and hydrate?

Hi Nicole. I love your content and appreciate how hard you work and how much you love what you're doing (most of the time 😉) it occurs to me that youay want to look into a Coolbot for holding flowers. (I have no affiliation) My husband turns a workshop room in our garage in northern Maine at camp into a temporary 'hanging room' for bear or moose during hunting season. Also to keep bait from freezing during ice fishing season. Pretty inexpensive to buy and super easy to install. Just need insulating enclosure. Just a thought....Have a Great Season!

I had the same issue with some of my tulips. I reached out to the place I bought the bulbs and they said most likely either too mild a winter, inconsistent moisture or a combo of both.

Those bulbs are duds once you cut off the entire plant. You need to leave the bulb on the ground with some leaves intact so it can regenerate and grow new bulbs for the following year.

Do I need to rotate my tulips in the yard every yr? What does it do like they won’t bloom again? This yr planted 500 tulips and they put on a show they were so big and giant blooms. I’m like worried next yr they won’t bloom as good. I guess I need to dig them up.

Jesus Christ is the son of God who died and rose three days later and loves all of you. He died for everyone and wants you with Him, to know Him and live for His glory. Come be saved eternally and spend time with Him to know Him. Be saved, free, forgiven, healed, delivered, baptized, whole and let Him show you how He is everything you need.🕊️💕Living righteous and Holy because He said to and paid for our way to live like Him. Ask anything in His name and the Father will do it amen hallelujah praise God thank you Jesus . 🙏 🕊️ I lift up everyone's prayers, wants and needs to You Jesus, please pour out blessings. May Your favor, grace and mercy be upon the world. In Jesus name come help us all. You know our needs and everything else about each of us. In Jesus name amen thank you Jesus praise God 🙏💖 Jesus, Help people to be rooted and grounded in Your love and to obey You. That they are living in the truth being taught by You. That they know Your voice and word. We are ambassadors of Christ. We represent God, when we are seen Jesus should be seen, His ways not ours. We should be living for and showing God, living for His glory. We are to be an example of Jesus for the world to see Him and want to know Him and know Him more. 🙏 💖 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, if My people humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear them from heaven and heal their land. 🙏 People need to turn from their wicked ways, Jesus paid for it. That's God stating it in that verse and there are more verses. People need to repent, to be cleansed by His blood and live Holy because He's Holy and righteous because He's righteous. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin (Isaiah 53), and to live how He said. He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He's always serious about everything He said to do. He's just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏 Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it's fullness. 🔥🕊️🙏💖 He's worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said. Jesus said If you love me you will obey my commands. Praise God thank you Jesus. In Jesus name. 🔥💖🙏🕊️💖🙏🔥🕊️
