The Fisher 600 Stereo Tube Receiver

This is an overview of my new Fisher 600 stereo tube receiver. I go over the work that'll need to be done, things to watch out for if you come across a receiver like this, and other potentially useful information. Feel free to reach out if you have a unit like this for sale or need service. This is Fisher's first receiver and pre-dates the Fisher 400, 500, and 800. The 500B and 800B are my favorites with their tube tuning indicators that glow like nothing else. 500C and 800C are probably the best sounding. Many of these were made and these definitely belong in any vintage stereo collection.

Nice receiver, just found one , no time yet to rebuild, just wanted to mention that keeping tuner part not recapped is not a good idea- it still in circuit and can cause damage etc..

Great video. I agree with you that many of these videos are for and about flippers, hoarders and narcissists and not about the quality of the gear. I have to say that your comments about tube "value", i.e., how much money they are worth are a little disconcerting, they simply feed the beast and detract from the subject. It would be much more informative if you would talk about the different characteristics of old vs new production tubes. Tubes don't last forever and are susceptible to damage when used in aging circuits. Also, as you alluded to, flippers pull tubes from vintage gear to make an easy buck. If someone were to come across a vintage amp or receiver with damaged or missing tubes and needs to purchase them, instead of rewarding flippers who have poached tubes and listed them on ebay, it would be much better to support the current tube manufacturing industry so that we have a steady supply of replacement tubes readily available now and in the future.
