If Mat gets 4 Team Championships then maybe he can be as fit. Getting individual wins is really hard but to also help win with a team 4 times is crazy.

This is true! Mat may be fitter, stronger, better then Rich on an individual scale, but can he do both? is he a good team player? I guess time will tell.

I also think there’s such little recognition given to his team! It must take a lot to be perfectly synchronized with Froning.
@Sluggo7174 жыл бұрын
Like they mentioned the team is only as strong as their weakest link and they do not have a weak link. Froning was a big part of the team but it was a team and his ability to work, compete, and win as a team member was huge. True leaders are expert followers and he proved that leading when needed and following as needed. Awesome person

Mat Fraser takes the cake. Mat Losing to rich and Ben was the worst thing to happen to every other crossfitter since fran. He’s obsessed with winning, and he only had such a close games because of his sandbag muck up. I don’t think he noticed it tbh it’s not in his nature to cut corners. That’s why he’s the best. Also, we never saw Rich have to give everything he had to win. He only did what he needed to do, to beat the person next to him.. We never saw him go to the end of his capacity. Matt on the other hand gives it all every time. We only got 1 year of Froning vs Fraser, which Froning won. That year Rich wasnt as motivated as an individual competitor any longer likes years before and the following year went into Team events. And Fraser has dominated ever since. The winning styles are different. Froning dont workout as much as he used to, and so we will never see neither one of these 2 guys in their prime going head to head given their ages.

I would argue that Mat is fitter, considering the timeline that they compete in. It’s no competition between past and present competition that people competing nowadays are fitter than those of the past. Mat is winning against better competition than Rich had, even though Rich’s individual time did have a few good competitors.
@PochoNieves3 жыл бұрын
Disagree... Matt had the same time and resources as Rich. This is not a question of different eras. Rich competed against Matt and everybody else and they all got better every year but Rich was better. Matt only won after Rich and that's a fact. I would argue that if Rich had staid he would have got better and adjust every year just like he did and beaten Matt again. The thing is that we have the precedence and we can say it already happened. Saying that Matt would have bested Rich, well that's already answered because he tried a few times and didn't.
