Fun fact: these mashed films are all connected to one another (except for Sweet Pie and Pie (2:02), which shows Curly looking for who is throwing the pies and eventually gets pies thrown at him). The short subjects involving Shemp (Pest Man Wins; 0:59) and Joe (Pies And Guys; 1:12) all utilize stock footage of the pie fight scenes of Half-Wits Holdiday which involved Curly, who didn't take part in the pie fight after a stroke. The stock footage scenes are those involving only Moe, Larry, a few extras that appeared on Half-Wits Holiday, and Emil Sitka in a few scenes, like in 0:18, 0:23, 1:06, 1:14, 1:55, 2:16, 2:41 and 3:02.

One of the earliest documented pie fight was the Bronco Billy Anderson directed short, "Mr. Flip," Filmed in 1909, cross-eyed comedian Ben Turpin flirts with a counter waitress who delivers the pie to Ben's face. Ben also gets pelted with shaving cream and sprayed with seltzer water.

Actually Curly's last completed short was the previous Three Little Pirates; in Half Wits Holiday, he was to be featured prominently in the pie fight scene, but Moe found him slumped in Jules White's director's chair, and knew instantly that his brother had suffered a career ending stroke. RIP Curly. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!
