They actually could have edited "Half Wits Holiday" to include Curly in the pie fight. They had done it before and would do it again to include Shemp in films after Shemp's sudden death.

They did. They just spliced in scenes from In The Sweet Pie And Pie, making it look like Curly appeared in the final pie fight scene. They also edited in footage from In The Sweet Pie And Pie, Half Wits Holiday, and Vagabond Loafers.

This short always makes me laugh when I see it. It would be fun to have a pie fight. Cleaning up wouldn’t be too fun! 😂

I remember reading on the back of a VHS case of A Three Stooges tape that had this film that during filming, Curly suffered a stroke and was unable to continue. This was his last appearance as one of the Three Stooges.

Nearly died of laughter and slapstick nothing like a good pie fight as we know it as always excellent outstanding brilliant true comedy at its very best the howards and fine family would be proud and laughing no one close to the 3 stooges your legacy of laughter and slapstick and pie fights still continues on you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong keep the laughs coming much love and respect and appreciation you knuckleheads old is gold couldn't breathe and stop laughing thanks for a good laugh and the memories way to go very impressed !! Having only Moe and Larry there in the end of the short is so uncomfortable to me, especially remembering his stroke. An unfortunate end to a great man.
