you don't necessarily need a wall stud. .you can use 1/4 molly anchors .never had a call back for a tv falling off the wall.
@Beretta96Dan7 жыл бұрын
Home Depot has a two gang cut-in box that has one side for high voltage (120 volts) and the other side for low voltage (cable, HDMI, etc.). It would be a violation of the National Electrical Code to have the power cord fished inside the wall. You can come out of the receptacle that you plugged the tv into, and fish some romex in the wall. Then install a decorator style receptacle, a low voltage sleeve, and a two-gang plate.

I know this video had some parts sped up because it took me days to install my tv wall mount years ago even though much of that had to do with me installing it onto a wall without looking for any studs lol.. Cnet constantly harp on about going as big as you can, yet this TV appears way too small for the viewing room. Plus, why would I want to mount an LCD so high, above my line of sight, which will diminish the screen's image quality? Why does Cnet mount TVs too high in all their videos? An LCD will only look its best if you're DIRECTLY in front of it (vertically and horizontally). What kind of "experts" are you Cnet?
@tstraw4810 жыл бұрын
There's no furniture in that room what so ever. How do know the line of sight is too high? How do you know what the TV will be used for? If it's for a living room yes its too high but if its for an office for example or somewhere with high seating (man cave perhaps) its a good height.
@gorillapancake10 жыл бұрын
tstraw48 If you watch TV standing up, it'd be fine. Other than that, the position is stupid, especially for an LCD.

Not to sound bad but that's not a great job. First of all from experience You should never trust the built in level because they aren't accurate what so ever. Also you never measured if it's center with the wall and also you never put an outlet behind the tv to hide the ugly power cord.

@seaneredia51997 жыл бұрын
manifest 73 maybe hes gonna add a bed there, its much better to watch lying down if the tv is pretty high :)
@carlosoliveira-rc2xt7 жыл бұрын
Not true. For most people it might be a little low. People tend to slouch on their chaises or recline with their recliners if watching TV for extended periods, such as viewing sports or movies. Where does that put your field of vision? Up near the ceiling wall juncture. This too high nonsense might have had some validity when your average TV was a 32" flatscreen, but today 65" is an average size and viewing distances tend to be farther. Of course distance plays a role here but I suspect most people aren't sitting 4 feet from their 65" TV. I would recommend the bottom of a 65" TV hung at a minimum of 4 feet if you view at a distance of 12'. The farther the viewing distance, the higher you should mount the TV. I view a 55" in the bedroom at a distance of 15' and it is hung with the screen bottom almost 5 feet from the floor. In the living room , my TV is mounted with the top about 6 inches below the ceiling with a viewing distance of about 15 feet. Most of my viewing is in a reclined position. I have designed and installed Home Theaters and have been in the business in one form or another for 35 years.

Major fail...you have to put braces on back of tv before placing mount on the wall to determine height....
@johnpa20067 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, if your installing into a space where you have specific area to fit into then yes. But if its the only thing on that wall your fine. Factor in distance to couch, and how you have your neck positioned while relaxing. That is where the height matters, and above all it was level !!!
