Hell yeah. Great to see you back up and running. Its crazy to see that a busted oem bpv is what it took to blow up a r660. By the same token, thats honestly scary stuff. Could've happened to anyone who got the r660 but didn't pick up an aftermarket bpv. I'm glad im on rv6's bpv right now

Quick turnaround - glad to see you’re back up and running!! Wow, the BYPASS VALVE failed… craziness. Good to know the source of the problem!! Yes, RV6 IS amazing!! Love their R660 and the billet bypass valve! Looking forward to the next video and future mods (rigid collars, compliance bushings, etc.)

Me too brother. Me too. It’s the difference of working with an experienced shop vs an inexperienced shop. This could’ve easily been several weeks or months long.

Am I missing something? The BPV is supposed to release the boost pressure when lifting off the gas, not control boost. The wastegate is what controls boost.

Great to see your fl5 is back again 🎉 what do you consider overheating for oil and coolant ? what has been your max temps fk8 vs fl5 ? 👀 I’ve an fk8 my max coolant was 103c and my oil 125c I thought I felt it pulling power but OEM gauges was still have way like normal. “My temps were takin in Celsius from greddy gauges”

Coolant I’d say anything above 260F it’s getting hot and oil I’d say anything 285F is hot. Oil generally starts to break down past 280F. Better quality oils will hold up to about 300F the damage might have already been done by then.

Nice man! Glad to see it back on the road! Im just starting to mod my FL5! so far have AWE Track exhaust & PRL Stage 1 intake! still waiting for stuff to come off Back order! PRL Intercooler, Charge pipes, Titanium intake pipe, etc... ugh! Its all a waiting game.

Why wouldn't they provide their bypass valve with their turbo? Hopefully now there will be a bold, red letter warning of not upgrading the bypass valve with their turbo.

Yes Ive heard great things about the MHI Turbo which is what im looking at myself! Good Choice! Not knocking RV6 at all. Im probably going to get their downpipe! or possibly the Two Step Performance! Which would you recommend.

Both Down pipes are good. Both will flow about as well. If you want a bit more sound the RV6 will be a bit louder

@@GridZilla Nice! Good to know! Thanks. I think im leaning more towards the RV6! Do you know of anyone coming out with an external oil cooler anytime soon for better cooling? I know that would definitely fix the heat soak and overheating issues!

I have the RV6 BPV installed. Nice unit. Mine's didnt tear, bur rather would leak at high boost, and couldnt stay shut fully.

What’s your take on the oem bypass if you don’t upgrade your turbo? Is this an actual issue for those people you think or what about people who tune on stock turbos

I ran the FK8 stock turbo and bpv pretty hard. It was fine. I think this is more an aftermarket turbo issue because a higher volume of air is at play here

If the bpv failed it doesn’t matter what turbo you have. It will grenade

So you'll run the RV6 BPV with the MHI stage 2 turbo, that should be a great combo!

stock power and trubo? NO This is on high boost applications with aftermarket turbos, which flow much much more

The purpose of a turbo bypass valve is to relief intake manifold boost pressure when throttle body closes. A bypass valve failure should not create an over-boost condition, it should actually be the opposite.

@@xlTreeFiddylx Yes it can. I will try to oversimplify it for you. This ECU uses BPCMD as a target, if the BPV leaks due to tear, the BPCMD cannot be reached, which then the ECU will modify WGCMD to reach its target. Combine all this and yes, you can overspeed the turbo.

im surprised you did not use the rv6 bypass valve. I’ve seen so many ripped bypass valve on non MHI turbos. rv6 makes a rv6 specific bypass valve for the turbo

You bashed on RV6 on your last video without diagnosing what caused the engine to blow. Ultimately you had your followers believing in you and trashing them in your comments. They build outstanding products and customer service is top notch. In return this is you being impatient and wanting to go out for a track day. Knowing that RV6 had warned you about the by pass valve.

Whoa! How did I bash the RV6 turbo? And I read every single comment and responded to almost all of them. My responses were always along the lines of it NOT being the fault of the turbo so not sure where you are coming from at all.
