Loving your reactions. About Mon-El, if you recall he was tossed in prison right off the bat for being a Daxamite by a Kryptonian whom share a mutual hatred. Kara even mentions very early that the prince was notoriously the worst of them. So not disclosing that information could have been motivated by self preservation. And as time went on the need to reveal this truth faded since he had no reason to believe his past would ever be relevant again, it was gone and a half a galaxy away. He didnt just lose his world but he learned that literally everything he knew was entirely wrong and that he was unwittingly contributing to systems of oppression (which were ALL that he knew). It's not like he was a piece of shit because he wanted to be, because he chose to be, but rather because that's what his culture was. He didn't know there was any other way to be. Except now he does, thanks to Kara. And he's actively trying to be better even as that means going against what was his entire life. It's not easy but he's working so hard at it, and his character development has been AMAZING. That's why I love his line, "I was a spoiled, useless person, but I didn't know. Until I met you" because it's so true.

I just wish that they had had a more in depth conversation about that similarity to each of their situations. They're both refugees from supposedly dead planets. You'd expect for Mon-El to be a little bummed out and in mourning at some point. I kinda pictured a scene in the second or third episode of the season to involve Mon-El in tears of loss and anger with Kara comforting him. But I guess that'll just have to be my own piece of deleted scene fan fiction. #KaraMel
