So some random continuity things: - S1 of the Flash takes place at the exact same time as Arrow s3. - When Oliver mentions he'll need Barry's help, this is in direct reference to the finale of Arrow s3. Oliver's outfit here also makes sense once you get closer to the end of Arrow s3. Tbh I miss when the Arrowverse did more mini crossovers like these. Because once it continues, they focus more on these huge crossover events and honestly, I prefer the nice little moments of continuity that make it feel like a fully lived-in universe, you know? Also just seeing the heroes interqct with each other is a lot of fun. I'm super excited to see what you think of The Flash s2, because it really opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for the show. And imo it's just as good as s1, if not better. Everything from the writing to the cgi to the villains Barry faces. Some great sci-fi concepts that are just [chef's kiss].

He wanted Barry to get struck by lightning because the reverse flash doesn't have the speed force. He has the negative speed force. The speed force is natural while the negative is not. So to create a negative speed force he would need centuries worth of technology, which is easy to find in the future. Making Barry the flash is easier than that
