Jack was literally me when he was talking about the refit-Constitution, still my favourite design. And I'm glad the A was treated with respect by Starfleet, unlike her immediate predecessor. Also glad they chose to use the 60s-Design for the TOS-Connie instead of the SNW-Version... not that I have anything against the latter (it looks hell of a lot better than its Kelvin-Timeline-equivalent) but the OG is still much closer to my heart.

Actually both designs are canon. If you go back to S1 when Picard visits HQ, the SNW design is projected above. So both are canon. Be curious how they explain that, as if SNW was the predecessor design before it became the Constitution I-class (besides the obvious 25% difference).

I got the impression from how Seven talks about how "it went further than any of those other relics", almost in a kind of defensive way, that even if Voyager's exploits *should* be common legend, maybe in universe it's still eclipsed by the adventures of the Enterprises, Kirk, Picard etc. This is just how I see it, but maybe it's a bit comparable to Voyager's overall place in the meta series in real life. Obviously the main purpose it serves is to give Seven a reason to talk about it though.

They haven’t necessarily ended the Defiant and Intrepid classes, just the uss defiant and the uss voyager, both of which went though extreme stress, and in voyager’s case, was likely disassembled/made unusable reverse engineering its future/borg tech. @@H99661 no, just no. There is a huge difference between people not willing to accept a different series because of fanboy syndrome and a series that completely goes against the principles of which a show was build. Star Trek is suppose to be uplifting. Showing a positive outlook for the future. We see more drinking, smoking and drug abuse than in most series. Everyone has a trauma to process. Everything is dark and depressing. Not just the setting, also the dialogue. People also tend to lose their heads more as if it's game of thrones. No peaceful means, just cut off the heads. I LOVE this. Def getting this on Blu Ray when it's released. Not really into the 1st or 2nd seasons, but I would probably buy the Blu-Ray just to snag this scene. This scene is like seeing old friends that have been away for years. Theoretical question for all you fans out there. If Starfleet could "gift" you one of these legends, or even just on "extended loan," to explore the stars with, which one would you pick? For me, it would be the New Jersey. Her twin sister, the late pre-refit Enterprise, was my first love. That ship introduced me to the world of Star Trek as a child, although the refit A wouldn't be a terrible consolation prize. Def have a soft spot for the original Constitution class. One hell of a tough bird too. It made two round trips to the 20th century AND came back intact: "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" and "Gary Seven." I am firmly in the Constitution class camp too, Jack.

My introduction to star trek isn't there. It's probably still laying on Veridian 3. So I'd have to go with my second pick, Enterprise A. I loved the original Constitution class, but I loved the refit look just a tad more with the angled out nacelles, that blue deflector, and just the simple elegance of her lines.

Have to think, in that timeline voyager returns home many, many years later. The area on earth may not have been a option. It also didn’t have the decades to become the ship crossing the galaxy to come home that may have earned it more prestigious location. Not to mention the technology, in the original timeline they would have had those years to transmit technology specifications back to Starfleet so never needed to be stripped down on return, the new timeline handed them a treasure trove of technology that could be studied directly. After that I may have been in no condition to do a planetary landing.
@ThatElfNerd
@ThatElfNerd Жыл бұрын
That was another timeline. If Voyager had actually stayed in the Delta Quadrant for 30+ years, it would've earned it's place as it's own museum for the sheer fact that it survived that long without any maintenance from a Starbase.

I always imagined that the fleet museum was on earth. A huge place where all the ships are gathered in the same place, I agree that it feels like this is more logical to have all the ships in space but it would still be cool if starfleet had a museum like that on earth instead.
@tamasvago87
@tamasvago87 Жыл бұрын
Picard does not make sense in so many ways... It absolutly makes zero sense for the fleet museum to not be at least in sector 001. If not on Earth - why not in anywhere in the solar system? God, where is the logic in that to put a MUSEUM somewhere out in the middle of nowhere, so nobody can visit it?! Also time and distances are just fked up in Picard. I'd assume the top secret starfleet facility as Daystrom Station is somewhere - out of reach. Totally makes sense if you want to hide something. Still Picad and the gang manage to go from Daystrom to the Museum, waste a lot of time with chatting his old crew, installing a cloacking device and get back to Daystrom what it looks like less than an hour. So the travel must be like - 5 minutes? Do they have the museum in the same system as the top secret starfeelt base? just does not make sense.

@@tamasvago87 The titan can go warp 9.99. Given how often Earth is attacked putting a Museum there would be risky.
@mastere6115
@mastere6115 Жыл бұрын
@@tamasvago87 you do know warp speed only gets faster as time goes on. It is a big reason to why warp speed in the future discovery is faster than thr same number warp speed in picard, since although they don't use warp 10 due to the risks, they instead just changed the scaling, so instead of asking for warp 9.9997 it would be warp 8 or something. And with Picard, there have been tons of scientific advances since tng, Voyager etc alot because of them, so most ships would be fitted with a faster warp drive, especially exploration based vessels like thr Titain A
@tamasvago87
@tamasvago87 Жыл бұрын
@@mastere6115 That is just a poor explanation.. According to ST technical manual warp 9.99 7,912 times the speed of light. So that is still less than 1 LY per hour. Even if we assume technology improved multiple times still makes no sense. Average systems are multiple lightyears apart. Especially claiming that warp is infinite - Trek has introduced transwarp because infinite warp does not make sense (and let's forget the sad warp 10 episode of Voyager :D ). Even more that Picard in the previous season Rios used transwarp, so it's clear that Starfleet developed this tech... This is just lazy writing, nothing else. Just like when they reached the border of the federation while Shaw was sleeping...
