This technique is deadly at catching bass of all sizes. Once you know how and when to choose the correct combination of weight and size. This will get bit year round, but tends to shine now through the spring spawn. Come along as I share my experience with this simple and effective technique.

Brings back a lot of memories. That was the first technique I used when I first started bass fishing in the nineties. Back when Mel Cotton's in San Jose had a part time fish guide based out of Lake Amador. He had pics of many double digits and fished these things called big swimbaits. My dumb a$$did not pay attention to the big swimbaits but he did put me on the flick shake technique from Jackal with weighted jig heads and no weight. I used the 1/8,1/16, and weightless. I still have some and this video brought back a lot of memories. Ever since Mel's shut down I have shopped at Coyote bait and tackle. They have a great selection of swimbaits and knowledgeable staff.

That was Gil the guide. I actually bought a box of jerk baits from him. Coyote Bait and Tackle is awesome. Been shopping there for 40 years.

Great content Sean I honestly forgot about the flick-shake worm. I’ve definitely had some success with it but as you know there are so many new baits out it just slipped my mind. I’ll definitely be using it the next time I go out I am a huge fan of the green pumpkin candy color as well. Thank you for another great video hopefully all is well on your end. Keep the videos coming I always learn something new when you post !!

Good stuff……..I need to spend more time fishing this tech., on bluff walls. I’ve had some success with m homemade flick-shake heads; worm hook with a 90 deg bend and crimped a splitshot at the bend. Sometimes I’ll put a dab of epoxy glue to keep it secure.

Hi Sean, great stuff and I have been using the Zappu head with a flickshake for some time, curious if you have tried using with a size VMC crossover ring to help save the bait or do you only hook direct into the worm as it appears in the video. Thanks for your videos, really enjoy them!

I just recently started using the VMC crossover rings. I’ll definitely be using them specifically on the 6.8 which it looks like they are no longer making.

I still fish the flick shake and use the Jackall and Zappu heads. Recently I have been using a wacky hook with a free rig weight instead of a jig head . I think it liberates the worm more.

Interesting, I’ll have to try that.

Unfortunately, it looks like Jackall has discontinued the Watermelon Candy color. One of the best in all conditions.

Yeah and the 6.8 size as well. I’m guessing they have been falling out of favor. Maybe there is something else that I am not aware of.
