February Baits That Work

February baits that work. Seasons are progressing and baits are too. Its time to start fishing for those fish that will be transitioning from their winter patterns and getting ready to spawn in a couple months. Days are getting longer and the temps are increasing slowly. Storms still happen, but they tend to be on the warmer side. These are some of my favorite ways to find fish this month and big fish as well.

Good stuff!! This is one of the most underrated KZbin fishing channels out there. No BS … Just real fishing talk not based around a Damiki rig staring at a screen. It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned 40+ year angler or new to bass fishing, there are always learning opportunities with Shawn.

Per your advice I recently purchased a couple of sneaky Pete’s and several packs of the frenzy nail shakey heads as well as a few packs of Zman Fatty Z’s . We’ll see if these Virginia highland reservoir Spots and Smallmouths like them like your Cali quarry. Thanks for the advice!

The Clown Rogue isn't just good, it's also pretty as hell. If my daughters would wear 5.5" earrings, I'd make them a pair. I still have a couple of those though I don't fish big jerkbaits up here much. Some day I'll get up the nerve to throw that in the spring after the first trout plant. Also still have some of the clown patterned Cordell Spot lipless baits. They work on the same flats you described. Burn and pause. Good luck with the boat. Try not to swear... too much.

I have the Poppa Pete in the hitch color but I have a Sneaky Pete in green perch and they are both awesome. You should check out the the Throwback Baits Metro glide they are unbelievable

I’ve seen em spawn March through the end of may. The major move seems to be around the full moon in April.
