might be a dumb question, but is it generally not suggested to shoot a bird that is flying straight overhead?

Why?

@@tgsoutdoors idk just thinking about bbs falling down on the shooters. Obviously they wouldnt do much harm bc of the small size and relatively low velocity (however i could see one potentially dropping on someone's eye). But just curious if that was a safety precaution or not Side note lol, I've never been hunting but love keeping up with all your videos! Hopefully i can own an over/under someday and enjoy the sport as well. Keep up the good work

In North America you very veey rarely see a break open esp. an over under in the blind. Auto or pump are the preferred duck getters here. Doubles are mostly used for clays or upland bird.
@stog98214 жыл бұрын
True, but I think a lot has to do with what you are licensed to own in the UK. Someone will probably explain it.
@bentimms404 жыл бұрын
We can an do own auto here in the uk, most are 3 shot though. You need a different license to have over 3 shots.
@stog98214 жыл бұрын
@@bentimms40 In most of the States you are limited to 3 shots when bird hunting, so guns capable of holding more than 3 must be plugged to limit capacity.

Yep. Opening a O/U while sitting inside a tank isn’t ideal. SxS’s aren’t as bad as they don’t need to be opened as far but trying to open an O/U in a small steel tank is asking to ding a barrel 👍🏼

Hi great vid by the way you cannot beat a flight pond shoot, only my opinion you understand. Now onto a completely different topic,I have been offered a grade 5 Miroko Mk38 trap gun in new condition for a very reasonable price with 32 inch barrels. Now the gun is choked three quarters and full and I'm tempted to have it taken out to quarter and half when steel loads are compulsory, will I then have to have it reproved?Many thanks I love your show by the way?

You guys only pick up ducks after the hunt? God, I don't miss not having a gun dog. Took two years to train my Lab, but she is my most valuable hunting tool. I just put in an order for a second from the same breeder, my current is 8, will be 10 by the time the new dog is ready. Then Sassy can retire (though I think she would hate me if I went hunting ducks without her).
