Goliaths are hunters there's not enough biomass for the flood to infect the worms they wouldn't survive the transformation at best the flood could make use of the hunter gear.

It's not that they *CAN'T* still *use* the biomass, it's just significantly more efficient to just collect the biomass of the worms and put it towards making a "pure form" later. The worms are individual bodies, and not as valuable as a larger creature in combat, so the Flood just kills them and scoops them up for the meat grinder later. A Flood Lekgolo worm isn't worth the time and effort it takes to infect or utilize the current host body, so just grind multiple of them together and make something bigger and more utilitarian out of it instead.

You could live that scenario in stellaris (Dunno if I spelt it right) as a devouring swarm. I don't know if there are any halo mods as mine are mods to help performance.

Me and my buddy have been playing the Leader Overhaul mod almost religiously the past couple months or so. The Flood is way too strong lmao, at least when they send out an Abomination uber unit every five units which can one tap almost any unit in the game.

This has to be before the update they did some time ago because when my friend and I faced off against 2 Legendary Flood, they'd put ALL their resources into production and 1 massive attack, and then would be relatively helpless the rest of the game. Granted that 1st attack from both, I cleared out a base plot as Anders and told my friend to claim it, if I hadn't, my friend would have been down for the count because the flood just decided that she had to go. Despite Anders being the Anti-Flood Hero with the Rhinos and Sentinel supports, the flood go for my friend, leaving me alone, allowing me to retake my friend's base and push the flood back and eventually cut into the heart of the infestation and burned all the flood that stood in my way.
