I especially loved the part where some didn't partake and weren't pressured to partake. Like, you don't have to smoke marijuana if you don't want to, so don't ruin the fun for others just 'cause you don't think they should either.

I love this. One of the strongest points to me was at the beginning when the flower was being passed around, and one guy just simply says "no thanks". The only constructive criticism I have would be a little more emphasis on the brainwashing done after the "anslinger type character" swooped down on it. The anti weed propagand campaigns are killin us. Thats a nitpick tho, this is the best piece Ive seen in a while. All respect to the rtist/artists

In Russia it's treated like heroine and other deadly drugs, people who smoke MJ are considered dirty junkies and are treated like criminals. So appreciate what you have bro :) Also an awful lot of people here really thinks it's a "deadly" drug, which "causes" strong addiction, withdrawal syndromes and even death. It's so sad.

just wanted to say, as an artist and someone who appreciates unique ways of delivering a message (and I happen not to be a pot smoker) this animation is really cool. Great work- powerful without overtly hitting me over the head with what you are really getting at. Certainly makes your point. I say, smoke on my friend, smoke on.

I'm all for legalization but this is totally simplified and basically propaganda. Propaganda that is promoting something I agree with, but still propaganda. Don't use these types of tactics to promote legalization, you don't need to manipulate or lie to persuade people, that's what the anti-pot side has to do.
@thechatpal9111 жыл бұрын
It's not lying, just shush.
@zonegaming349811 жыл бұрын
First of all It is explaining how prohibition works, It doesn't it actually~ its pretty accurate to the history of pot. Pot was once used by our founding fathers and was used medically then we banned it and it created these mafia type gangs that cause more violence and putting non violent offenders in jail. This is not propaganda there is no lies being told here.
@zavierrsucks11 жыл бұрын
Propaganda is a form of communication aimed towards influencing the attitude of the community toward some cause or position by presenting only one side of an argument. (Definition from wiki, because, we all know its a lot more vague than you make it out to be). Propaganda is used to influence pretty much anyone on every subject, there's really no other way, some people will just think a certain way, others need to be persuaded, its how politics works.
@19blitzer11 жыл бұрын
Where is the manipulation or lying?
@chrystianshayne10 жыл бұрын
Propaganda is simply the establishing of understanding between an individual and a group. Meaning school teachers are basically propagandists. The only reason propaganda has negative connotations is because of the Nazis infamous use of it to create hatred and fear. Propaganda was just a book, written by Edward Bernays in 1928. It is neither good nor bad. It is simply a communication method. Besides, in my opinion, if the media's allowed to put fucked up bullshit like the encouragement of war and army indoctrination then this is next to nothing.

I remember when I first saw this cartoon over a decade ago, and it really spoke to the importance of this flower to me and humankind. It's kinda surreal to go back and watch this today, in 2024, in Virginia... Where "the flower" is available and free to grow... I can basically watch this video in reverse now... Let's keep pushing prohibition down! Expand homegrown rights!

Incredible, this animation masterfully explains without a word all the "marihuana chain of events"... But they should have explained a little bit all the things about the mafias topic... (The Marihuana traffic uses to be the "first/main" line of economic sustenance of many mafias. Regularizing marihuana also regularizes the cultivation, selling, etc... killing many mafias earning ways; which means their end (also of other activities such as prostitution, violence, HARMFUL drugs traffic...)

You actually just proved my entire point in your first statement. You said that everything that is consumed in large scale can be harmful. Yet since marijuana is one of the most easisest substances to get addicted too you begin to start consuming it in a large scale, much faster, easierly, and its hard to get off of it.

@InfiniteMomentStudio The 'cannabinoid' receptors are generally located around regions of the brain that influence memory thinking concentrating time perception coordinated movement and sensory perception, people have a different amount of these receptors which leads to that everyone's "trip" varies in terms of vividness, effects on health etc. People using marijuana will be at a suboptimal intellectual level, they will be 'slow' it will be harder to learn and their short-term memory will worsen

@persephonehadespluto It's not showing that the pill relieves pain by putting it in a different spot. It is showing that pills can cure the pain but often have side effects. Example ---> heart problems --> prescribed heart medication --> side effect of heart medication is high blood pressure --> so prescribe blood pressure medicine --> side effect of blood pressure medicine is allergies --> so take prescription allergy medicine --> ... you get the point

I love this animation soooo much. I just wish more people, other than (for the most part) only the people who use it, would see it like this. But there is one thing I've always had a hang up on about legalization.. If marijuana gets legalized, the government is going to try to control it, put taxes on it, mass produce it and spray pesticides on it. It just wouldn't be the same.. But on the other hand, they try to control it now and they obviously can't completely keep tabs on it, sooo. I dunno,

Speaking of morals/values, which one(s) are you referring to? Just because something affects you doesn't mean it's bad or immoral. Many things we use on a daily basis affect us. Things we do for pleasure and our interests, also affect our mood/mind for the better. So are saying we all guilty of indulging in pleasure? What is a value and who defines it? Society? Government? Religion? How deep do you want to take it? I can keep going. You are just scratching the surface.

@Draffknk Yes! Exactly. I think the key here, is that very high up in the pharm industry a very few people understand that they cannot profit from something that can freely grow everywhere, and as an entrenched interest, they simply look the other way and pretend they don't notice cannabis. I'm not saying they're consciously making these "evil" decisions, they may be unconsciously blinding themselves simply because there's a part of them that has an entrenched interest in the way things are.
