The Flyers will find a way to finish in the middle of the pack and continue in hockey purgatory. Last year, they were a playoff team for 65 games and then collapsed down the stretch. They not only missed the playoffs but fell out drafting in the top 10. I guarantee they will go on some winning streak midseason after a terrible start and finish right where they were last year: Miss the playoffs and draft in the teens. They have been doing this for over a decade.

Everyone needs to relax. This is like early NFL teams trying to figure out what they got. I really think they need to sit Zamula and think Drysdale is soft. The silver lining is the PP and keep Michkov with Coots. Michkov is probably an eventually better version of G and obviously Coots worked well with G. Coots/TK/Michkov work well together.

Agreed he definitely needs to work on skating. He's shouldn't be as slow as he his for his size. Dude needs to work on explosiveness for sure.

Desperation turns to gripping one's stick too tight. So many in close shots are turned away by opposing goalies simply keeping their pads parallel to the ice....BAD.

Explain to me why Brink got sat? He's got 4pts. in 6 games (That's a part of just under 40% of the teams entire goal production for the season. But he gets sat for a guy that equates to exactly 1 shot all game? The kids exciting and makes plays. What am I missing?

I agree, Brink looked better than most. Meanwhile you have Farabee who skates with the puck and loses it with nobody even close to him.

Im assuming Torts feels hes pressing so he sat him for a game. Not to mention Brink is a little guy and Washington is a big physical team. Personally I wouldn't of sat him imo hes probably made the most progress of any of the young players and dude knows all about the sauce. That pass to Joel a few games ago was filthy.

Brink has been better in the offensive zone, and his vision has gotten better. His defensive responsibilities however are still lacking.

It has been defense for sure. Very sloppy play so far. Bad decisions. Is it youth or just the talent is not there? This also leads to the goalies not looking very good. Not sure if that is a product of the defense or the goalies just are not that good. Maybe both? With Torts changing the lines every night so far, it makes it hard for any chemistry to build either. I feel like if this continues, the coach is going to be gone.

Briere may have to become far more active in managing this roster....it is too early to panic but it is time to think about how this roster could be revamped through trades and/or signing free agents in this coming off season. Look at their shortcomings and start to prepare a strategy in the event Torts cannot turn this team around.

This defense just isn't good enough. I'm sure Torts will find a temporary fix but this doesn't look like our year. At least Michkov is exciting and the PP looks better.

When your goalie (the colander) lets in six how do you expect to ever win. The solution is very simple. You need a stand on your head and make a save goalie. 33 is not the guy either. You guys can talk till you’re blue in the face, there’s no excuse for sloppy play. The flyers are a turnover machine.

Yeah he is fine, average speed I would say. Not everyone is fast like Konecny.

Michkov's agility is elite, his edge work is elite. He changes direction when skating in split second so no defensemen can cover him. It's just the team needs to get the puck to opponents' zone and then be ready to get the puck from Michkov and score. Alas, they don't.

I have the answer fire tort's he will destroy this team with his pettiness. He had all training camp to figure out his line combinations. So what does he do when the regular season starts he shuffles the lines still trying to figure everything out. He is allowing this team to fall behind early in the season. I am tired of his saying but their trying real hard. Yes they are trying real hard to get through this jugglers whims. We need a coach who knows how to handle young players. Because we all know he will bench an important player at an important time to make a point. Again he is messing with Coot's dropping him down to the 4th line as a winger. Briere needs to see this sooner rather than later. Michkov is our future tort's is not.
