Bruce, next time you're in Argyll go and visit the Blairmore Cafe at Blairmore, it's run by Helen and her daughter Morgan and a few other wonderful ladies. Fantastic food and they are incredibly friendly. And when you're full you can take a stroll along the pier and admire the views. (No affiliation, just a really good cafe). Great video as usual Sir.

Been up in Scotland last September and even thou the weather was horrid (even by Scottish standard, and the local said so) it was amazing! really enjoyed myself! Was planning on coming up in May but life (as in work and not in a good way) got in the way... so scrap an epic riding season, but i will be back!

Being Welsh I can tell you there are some impressive roads and scenery back home, however, Scotland is breathtaking Bruce. I used to do work at different dairies around Scotland and always loved it. I was using a BMW too, unfortunateley the 4 wheel version, many years ago. I never tire of your travel vids

Just came back from a week in Cairnbaan in the knapdale forest . Beautiful sunny days , torrential rain and blizzards kept it varied. Bike was safe in its container, I’m not THAT rugged! But renewed my love of Scotland for this year when it gets a wee bit warmer and the bike is ready to go ( whenever that is!!)

I rode from Northamptonshire to Campbeltown last July to visit family so I went on some of those roads. From Loch lomond to Campbeltown is honestly the best day of my motorcycling life. Awesome sweeping A road with barely anybody on it once you get past Inveraray. I'd recommend it to everyone. And Campbeltown is a great place to get pissed in. Apparently.

I grew up in Tarbert (my family are all still there). If you want a decent detour on that route turn off at Inverary and head to Tyndrum. Then head for Oban and make your way down from there.

We've ridden many of those roads. Inveraray to Oban is one of our absolute favourites. The Vital Spark ship in Inveraray harbour has been there as long as I can remember.

I’m a recant follower and I’m planning a trip to Scotland for July from Bristol to Ayr (seeing family) and onward to Inverness for two days! Im fairly confident in my plans planning and tips or tricks you might share I’d very much appreciate. I’m currently riding my 03 yamaha r6 on this trip too! I went to Wanlockhead last year, awesome road ,pity the museum was shut. I will go back this year. Did you notice that all the new lamp posts have barbed wire wrapped around to stop theft. I found it very strange, is it a big problem there lol

Really surprised at your comments re the Roadsmart 4s. I find the complete opposite on my 1250RS. Loads of grip, wet, sketchy or dry and nice n quick to turn in, change direction and hold a line under power round bends, goes exactly where you look. Unlike the Metzelers and Michelins I’ve run before 🤷🏻🤷🏻🏍️💨💨

I ended up in Dunoon more by accident than anything because it turned out the ferry to Kilcreggan was pedestrian only, but I didn't care the roads were awesome, and only added a few miles to my original route.

I did the North Coast 500 a couple of years ago. First time in Scotland, absolutely blown away. Definitely going back this year. I have a GS 1200 put on some Metzla roadtec SE. I hated the Bridgestones. Longevity is what I want most from a tyre. I want to the tyres to last 10k miles. What sort of miles do you get from your tyres?

I’ve never got 10K miles to any rear, usual is around 4k-8k depending on tyre and riding style. I’ve been using Dunlops for the last 3yrs or so, mostly the Mutant and Meridian’s, but I’m using the Roadsmart 4’s on this trip. I’ve used most makes now and the top ones for general all round road riding for me are Dunlop Mutant/Meridians, or Michelin Road 5’s (not tried the 6’s yet). But it’s a very personal thing👍

I genuinely don’t notice any difference between them - both equally fantastic for general road riding. I’ve even done a few track days on them, good as good and my preferred tyres of choice currently - either Mutant or Meridians👍
