At first glance, you will likely not mistake Five Nights at Freddy’s to be the work of an arthouse auteur. So Five Nights at Freddy’s is pulp. It’s camp. It’s proudly low-culture and far removed from the work of an Aster or an Eggers, who imbue their ghost stories with high-concept psychedelic dread - motifs stacked upon motifs - of familial abuse, toxic masculinity, oedipal psychodrama, and so on. However, if you dig below the surface, as millions of fans have, an alternative truth begins to reveal itself. Because Five Nights at Freddy’s is also one of the most complex horror stories ever written, though much of its narrative is etched in unseen places: furtive cutscenes, recursive symbols, keystone clues slotted into hidden alcoves. Taken all together, Five Nights at Freddy’s is capable of generating the sort of hallucinatory fan theories you’d expect from the biggest Severance diehards, or that friend you have from college who still swears that The Shining is a metaphor for a faked moon landing. If you stumble across the rabbit hole, there’s a good chance you’ll tumble down, too. “You could play through one of the early games of Five Nights at Freddy’s in about three hours. But as you do it, you’d fixate on these small details. The number of buttons on an animatronic, or a background detail shifting based on your camera angle, things like that,” said Matthew Patrick, better known by his KZbin alias MatPat, who is the foremost Five Nights at Freddy’s thinker in the world. “It’s all told through atmospheric storytelling. Basically, Fnaf 8 Help Wanted was a soft reboot that treated the other games as "possibly canon" as in "people literally think the events of the Main 6 games are Fictional legends made to spread the word about The Fazbear Company" and it was basically a way to keep the old stuff while also starting fresh with new characters, locations and villains, with the villain being this digital entity that is apparently a replica of William Afton, not really him but close enough, he influenced a security guard and made her go insane, setting up again, a new villain for the series while also keeping it tied to the old continuity in a subtle way that didn't ruin the original Ending or confirm that this was the same universe, then security breach came out and shat all over that attempt at something new by bringing back the old villain and definitively proving that this is the same universe and that the original events still happened while also undoing the original Ending where Afton got sent to hell and the souls of the children were freed, now the DLC tried to retcon that but the damage has already been done, the new games are now tied to the old ones, meaning that it'll take a while to actually get something new and not recycled.

It was possesed by Henrys daughter. It was captured inside a bear robot and then burned by Henry inside the fake pizzeria. The Fazbear Frights books of debatable canonicity say it had survived the fire as a mask, been taken in by the police, and then let out to stop Afton

2 questions. Isn't FNAF 2 before FNAF 1? If so then why in the video did Henry Emily rebrand the FNAF 1 restaurant into the FNAF 2 restaurant. FNAF 2 takes place before FNAF 1. And this question isn't about the video but since FNAF takes place before FNAF 2 then how does Evan Afton have nightmares about Nightmarionne (Nightmare Puppet) and Nightmare Mangle if FNAF 4 is before FNAF 2. Mangle and The Marionette didn't exist in FNAF 4.
