I’m not paying over MSRP. This market will not last forever. I’m not sure what has caused everyone to go crazy, but I would like to know. Seems to me they will print this set similarly to crown zenith. I’ll just buy from big box stores despite not wanting to. Oh and this is a self-rectifying problem. Those that buy for these prices will have a hard time turning profit because who is gonna buy them? They will be readily available. After a few people who way overpaid get stuck with them, they’ll bounce out of the hobby again and things will return to sanity. Oh and forge and fire earned my loyalty and within 2 weeks, lost it. If smoke and mirrors avoids doing the same thing, I’ll take my business to them. Forge and fire gaming, there is 1 thing you haven’t considered. Sure, you are making astounding profits right now in this market with all the new blood in the hobby, but what happens when they leave, and all the customers you lost doing these things, you know, those STILL in the hobby after all this hype dies down, stops buying from you? What is your business strategy then? Hope the short term profit is worth it

Forge and Fire won my support and thousands in business for their support in the community earlier this year when someone was scammed. Today I need to rethink that support. Shameful.

As a business owner (not Pokemon), a part of this is that if they don't charge those prices they won't have ANY for their customers. It's a harsh reality that they actually will receive less complaining this way than if they'd put them up at MSRP and they immediately sold out.

@@Brandonhart100 1. Sell limits. Cancel orders to addresses over the limit. Sure it'll still sell out quickly but it'll leave less a sour taste in customers mouths. --- Or coupon codes? Send previous customers codes they let them purchase up to 3 products. One week later put orders live for all. 2. That's fine, if they consider this acceptable then I consider taking my business elsewhere acceptable. 👍 Harsh reality is finding a balance and I think most agree presales double MSRP aren't it. 🤢

Same. I was able to buy from Pokémon Center (2 of the ETBs and 2 of those box things). I’m fairly sure this set is gonna get overprinted and some good deals will be available, like with 151. And people forget they’re releasing prismatic stuff until September next year.

Here's to hoping, but looking at DG and CostCo it's clear 151 reprints are being eaten up too. Moonbreons PSA 10 pop report shows massive supply doesn't do much if demand is still greater. As Doc says if you find a price you're comfortable with then bite; For me that's MSRP, it may be a while for hype to die down with Team Rocket right behind this.

The LGS and online stores are trying to cash in and set a new normal for new sets! It’s out of control and they taking advantage of it! I wouldn’t be surprised if we find out later that they are the ones buying their own product to boost the market You heard it here first!!

@MRGandee Market value for Ford trucks was $15,000 over sticker. Now they sit on lots. Pushing away loyal customers for shortterm profits hurts long-term customer loyalty. Remember these places get stuff under sticker. So market value being $95 doesn't change that MSRP is $50 and they pay $30-40. They profit plenty selling MSRP - same as car dealerships selling at sticker.

Crown Blackberry is hard to find and double market if you can find it. When our distributor gets some they sell us at typical prices and we sell it for our normal markup. Could we increase prices a lot and make money shortterm? Yes. Would that scare away customers who've been coming to us for decades? Also yes. KZbin car dealerships dying and tell me how short term profits is working out for them. (Yes I know there's other factors, but that was definitely the final nail.) Forge can do as they wish but so can we. If clearly bad business practices hurt them long run then they only have themselves to blame. That's all. ☀️

It's very bad. And the bots are buying out all the stock at Best buy, Target, etc. too. I went to Gamestop the other day because they said the day before they had the bundles up for preorder, I went in and they said it's now out of stock. It took 2 DAYS! IN STORE! Like, the set is not even fully shown yet! People need to chill. Like, the more preorders you people keep making the more production and cards are going to circulate in the main and secondhand market and devalue everything later. Does no one not realize they're overhyping mystery packs too?? I'm sorry, I'm a little annoyed by this. Like as you said, it's not worth it.
