The one thing that I couldn’t understand is: Why did the Institute kill the remainder of those in Vault 111? Their pods were turned off if the computer terminals can be believed. The Institute after 200 years may have a dangerously narrow gene pool. Here you have a gene pool closer to your own with those educated at a level way above those in the Commonwealth without possible genetic mutations. Also, they could have been dispersed into the Institute’s population by family units to ease assimilation. Those that had certain genetic disease could have been left behind until it could be addressed by their medical practices. That is, unless they could be of benefit to the Institute due to certain knowledges or abilities.

Wasn't Shaun the only one with a pure genetic strain ? I think I can recall that they didn't use the other people in Vault 111 because they had varying kinds of genetic impurities (including the sole survivor) and thus were of little interest for the institute.
@michaeltelson9798 Жыл бұрын
@@leviathanforge Shaun is to donate DNA for the 3rd Generation Synth project, but the whole population of the Institute is also of concern if the Director would take his blinders off. There couldn’t be more than 200 faculty and students that began the Institute. After 10 generations the genetics of the Institute’s population would make all residents 2nd or 3rd cousins. Every one is related to everyone else. Birth defects and other genetic abnormalities would begin to rise greater in this isolated population. Probably more if the initial population came from primarily the physical sciences with less from the medical and biological sciences. The “residents” of Vault 111 would add to the genetic diversity of the general population without a notice from the rest of the Commonwealth as they are unknown. This helps with the security and secrecy of the Institute as well.

Even for the ones with shit intelligence, their ability to destroy not only you, but your entire party, in 1-2 hits, sending your health into the *negatives*, made them more terrifying than even Dealthclaws to me. I want that back in the next game. Intelligent ones or dumb ones. As long as they are a viable threat. Fallout has such amazing lore it’s so unfortunate that Bethesda had the rights to it and not another studio that actually can create an amazing rpg, obsidian had less than 2 years for new vegas and they created a much better fallout game than Bethesda could ever hope to make, hopefully now that Microsoft owns Fallout they can actually give it to a studio who still has passion for video games

Have you played The Outer Worlds? Obsidian isn't the same developer they used to be. TOW is practically identical to FO4 in its linear gameplay and lack of choice.

@@Subhumanslug yeah and CD projekt red created cyberpunk which is a garbage rpg too, i wonder which studio there is now that can really create an amazing fallout

So I get that science is complicated, but you have this virus that either makes things big, angry and dangerous or big, smart and dangerous. Why would you think giving this virus to ants that are already big and dangerous would make them less so? Were you hoping to cause the genetic equivalent of an integer overflow and reset the big and dangerous values to 0?

I would love to explore the first few fallout games in the style of the Bethesda games, I hope they get official remakes someday

I would love remakes of the first two, as they are. Feels a little clunky to play too much of it nowadays

Can you do a video lore on raiders and their history and how they came to be especially afer the great war please
@danielharshman7963 жыл бұрын
I think the raiders are typically people who come from groups that survived and subsisted on the surface whereas typical peaceful wastelanders were former vault residents or descended from vault residents.
