Why test drive the Raptor if you already knew it wasn't going to be like an original Bronco? Why complain about it being 4 doors when the 2 door is an option? Why complain about it being almost $100k when a base is like in the 40s? And on top of it, feels like Zach was just their to hate on it. The Bronco has always been a floater in my opinion. When the old school flat fender Jeeps came out they were strictly light-duty workhorses that when they came to the civilian market, could also be used for recreation, the same goes for the origional international scouts. When Bronco came out it was more of a toy rather than a work truck. Then when the Chevy K5 and GMC Jimmys came out they offered the best of both worlds, they had the towing capacity and space to do work being based on full-size trucks. They also had their short size and off-road capability which made them also good for recreation. The same goes for Dodge Ram chargers and the earlier full-size Jeep Cherokees. these bigger trucks were more popular hence why the Bronco went the way it did. when Bronco died, they just killed it off period, unlike the K5 Blazer which was just renamed the Tahoe and added 2 extra doors to allow it to fit in better with the contemporary market. Also @Donut media needs to to every K5 Blazer up to the current generation of Tahoe.

Might have missed the tone of the original Bronco by using a restomodded one. The original was a very utilitarian vehicle and I may be wrong but didn’t the size grow in the gen 2 to match the f150 due to sales competition from other automakers.
@derricksteen403Ай бұрын
Basically what happened was Chevy wanted to enter the market with the Scout and the Bronco, but to save money, they decided not to design from the ground up and instead used a C10 truck as a base and although I don't think they were out selling the Bronco, Ford was still like "That's a petty good idea why don't we just do that for the next gen Bronco" and then every gen after that was just based on a truck until the most recent gen I think. New gen might be based on a current gen ranger.

@@derricksteen403 Gen6 Bronco platform was 1 gen ahead of Ranger. The just-updated Ranger now shares Gen6 Bronco platform. Gen1 was tiny by today's standards. Gen2-5 borrowed heavily from the F-150 parts bin, from the frame to the body, to the interior.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't someone else's favorite. Also to be an auto enthusiast I'd say you should be able to appreciate any vehicle.

My grandparents owned a farm in Alaska (loved the "owned a farm comment") and had a 1966 first-gen Bronco with "Washburns Farm Nursery" stenciled on each side. I loved looking at that car as it's just such a pleasing shape. Story was my grandfather was suppsed to go get an International Scout but came back home with a Bronco instead. Great memories of tooling around the farm in that beauty.

I’ve had some of the best times of my life in a bronco. Weather if it were goin to the camp, to party’s, gettin in trouble or just hittin some late night trails way out in the middle of the woods not knowin if you’re gonna get stuck or not. I’d like 70’s bronco one day if money allows.

Surprised to not see the Bronco II in there, but.. I get it. None of the power of the bigger Bronco of the time, and that whole prone-to-flipping thing. I almost flipped a friend's Bronco II just from taking a turn a little too fast on the road. You could 2-wheel that thing so easy!

most of my childhood my dad had a ford bronco he owned 2 through the years, forth gen and fifth gen. i remember helping him fix the fifth gen in the driveway, the "Bronco Graveyard" is where we got parts. on my parents first date his 4th gen broke down and he had to ask for a ride. so many goood camping memories

Wife and I just bought a 4 door badlands to have some fun with the kids doing light trail work. It’s been so much fun, the kids love it, we love it. It’s compromised, sure, but the fun outweighs the drawbacks.

5th gen is definitely my favorite. Those years of F series were arguably the best looking and I think it carried over very nicely to the bronco and the 5.0 and 5.8 are both nice reliable engines

Similar to the Land Cruiser, I prefer the 2nd-4th gen Bronco. More refined than the basic 1960s 1st gen, but still pretty raw and unadulterated unlike the new ones with electronic everything just waiting to break.

That spongy steering is a Ford truck thing 100%. Ive owned a 78, 91, and a 96 F150 along with a 93 Bronco and all of them have that steering feel. Aftermarket power steering pumps can fix a lot of that slop and make the trucks less a chore to drive.

Any recommendations for aftermarket pumps 👀 got an 86 that feels pretty sketchy on freeways lol

My family's old Ford Taurus was very spongy too. From seats to suspension they were all spongy. The steering was ok.

I drove the base model Bronco Sport as a rental. Thankfully it was only for a few days. It felt like I was driving a brick. The steering was mushy, the brakes were mushy, the throttle was mushy. And before any of you start bitching at me about mileage, it barely had like ten thousand kilometers on it so it wasn't even broken in.
