Growing up being 1 of 7 kids when my parents bought their excursion was heaven for our road trips. We regularly went to national parks and would camp 2 - 4 weeks at a time. Parents sold it finally as we all grew up and moved out. Had a little over 500k on it.

Newer cars are pretty boring, most "quirks" are almost exclusively in the infotainment system.
@FireMarshallStev3 жыл бұрын
I do, but not necessarily because I think all new cars are bland or the same. It's because with a review of a 1995 XYZ model, it's an interesting look into what cars were like in 1995 or 2003 or 91 or 85, etc. Like the Bronco one was interesting because you saw that car bumpers even by the mid 90s could still just hang off the end and people were fine with it. Or you're reminded that minivans only had one sliding door. You see a handful of 2021 models, you get a sense of what remaining 2021 model videos are going to be like. And you're already familiar with most of the features of new cars from your own experience.
@jonsmith12593 жыл бұрын
The high $ cars none of us will be able to afford as well.
@keving79403 жыл бұрын
I dont like the rhetoric on newer cars being more boring since I think newer cars are more of a necessity to record for the incentive of being new so he records lots of newer vehicles that don't have many quirks since they're mass market and have less of a niche buyers with some obvious exceptions. However with older cars he gets to pick and choose and quirky old cars will still prove profitable with views normally, and he won't necessarily review something like old camrys or old rav 4s since whats the point? There are aspects of newer cars that can make them more bland like increased regulations, but overall lots of those regulations from a strictly non enthusaist standpoint are pretty helpful especially since those impact cars that enthusiasts wouldn't normally be the target audience for such cars.

I love those old Owners Manuals, they actually sounded like they were written by a human. They told you all the same stuff that the modern ones do, but they didn't sound nearly as robotic and corporate. A great example are the Manuals written by AMC in the '70s. They actually encouraged you to maintain the car yourself, instead of just taking it to the shop, for example telling you how to properly store the car for long periods of time (draining the tank or telling you to pour oil down the carb, yes they actually said that!). The entire Manuals were written in a down to earth tone, as if you were talking to a friend not a corporation. Sadly these things faded out in the late 90's.

Bronco... Taurus... crown victoria... Aspire not all the SUVs were named with E, and not all passenger cars were F I can say that because two of the vehicles you said Expedition and explorer were from the 90s, same with the sedans. also JWC with the five hundred that wasnt originally a taurus, it was actually meant to replace the taurus... but it didnt make sense, since it was just the exact same thing, front wheel drive v-6 powered large family sedan so it was given a rename, the reason it was done was because at the time the five hundred was actually going to replace two cars, the taurus and the crown victoria, since the last year for the crown vic was 07 the five hundred had been brought to market in 05 the original year the crown vic was meant to go away. which didnt happen, but then it still didnt make much sense so they gave up and just slapped the taurus name on it and kept rolling out new models until 2 years ago when they killed the entire car line.

@Glasspack40 I am 6 foot 2 and at my age it's the most comfortable truck I've ever owned.i don't even care about the gas mileage.

Nearly the same situation, no kids but I tow cars and have giant dogs. 6.0 gets fantastic mpg but makes you pay for it in maintenance. Favorite vehicle ever when it runs.

Doug mostly nailed it. I owned an Excursion for 5 years. If you need it, nothing else compares. If you don't need it, it's just silly. Once a couple of my children grew up, I downsized to an explorer. It really was one of my favorite vehicles that I've owned. The main reason I traded it was fuel economy.

These are amazing vehicles. We owned 2 and recently sold our V10 and kept the 7.3 diesel. 350k miles on the same engine and still going strong.
