In 2002, a significant development took place with the introduction of the Annan Plan, a peace proposal put forward by then-UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots returned to the negotiating table with renewed hope.

There was no reason for the Greeks to say yes to a plan that was heavily biased to the benefit of turks and Britain. It was named as the "Anan plan" but Mr anan had nothing to do with it. It was drawn up by the Anglo americans to favour Turkey as they needed turkeys geostrategic patronage. The Turks would have received their nine fits within 3 years and the Greeks would have received a few crumbs in 20 years. There was no reason for the Greeks to say yes and legalise the theft of their properties to the invading thieving turks. The only narrative on this issue is that the turk said yes and the Greek said no , no reasons were given as to why as it would have exposed a lot of iniquities and outright indifference by those who concocted the anan plan. Jack straw was always pro turk as his wages receive their bulk from Ankara in the forms of investment dividends and consultancy fees. Turks say they want political equality without actually stating what this means. The fact turks deny the most is they are less than 20% but want a minimum 50% whilst denying 25 million Kurds even the basics. I voted no to the anan scam as I would not be allowed to live in the north where I'm from for more than 150 days of the year and even then not till I've waited for 20 years, hiw is this a united cyprus?

To favour Turkey? Over Greece? “ this is your brain on drugs” moment for you was it? You wrote that 1day ago. Does it look like Turkey is n favour with any western nation & its always been that way. That’s why the UN outlawed a perfectly legal intervention, that was agreed upon by all 3 nations involved. But as soon as Turkey lives up to its responsibilities, you all cry. I’d be careful what you wish for compadre, Turkey has 2 million men under arms & they can be in Nicosia in half an hour. 😂

@@giorgismaximos8662who dictates international law? God? No. Interests dictates international laws, not God. Greeks had a chance to peace but they wanted enosis. Greek forces invaded turkey in 1919, with the promise of support from europe. And you got double crossed. Admit the bad judgement from your leaders, take the L and may God be with you.

Turkey has signed the internationa law so it has to respect it and not invoke the law only when it suits it Ofc there are interests otherwise UNSC would have ordered the use of force for the removal of occupying troops Turkey invaded an independent state twice against international law that had no rights on it, but to protect it Turks wanted enosis with Turkey even though turkish cypriots were a minority Greeks didn't invade , they just landed following Great powers' orders and agrrements , ottomans had lost a war They also wanted to protect the Greek population being geno cided by the turks ( you claimed the same about Cyprus ) British and French were there too but Turks mention Greeks so to justify the geno cide of people who had lived there for thousands of years . Maybe because they helped you win and we got double crossed They even stopped us from getting back Constantinople and made us leave Eastern Thrace Greece is already strong enough and will get stronger just in case . The law is on our side

Because they convinced you that your real home is anatolia? you were so naive and full of nationalistic dumb pride. Greece is a german project. Many small countries were big powers proiects. Including the country where im from, Romania. But im real with it. Im not blinded by cheap “democratic” propaganda. US needed you, The birth place of democracy, in order to justify invasions around the wolrd under the umbrella of democracy. You were used and them left in the ditch on your way to Angora Ankara.

The ANNAN plan.! The plan was perfect, although, was still giving to Turkey, the right to interfere. Why ..? The problems on the island, been created by those three quarantor powers. The main reason, that Cyprus enters the EEU was right exactly, for the quarantee of ALL it's citizens human rights. ALL CYPRIOTS human rights. Greeks, Turks, Maronites, Armenians, Latin, ..British ..etc. We all have to respect each other's rights
