@@treespiders9397 Do you get that with all games? I've experienced motion sickness with specific games, usually it means the developers have set the field of view too high or too lower for your screen, which some people are more sensitive to it than others. I couldn't play Half-Life 2 for more then 15-20 minutes on consoles because of it, but can play on PC on the same TV because I changed the field of view to the more common 90º. Worst game for this for me was Stanley Parable.

@@haravikk No clue, I don't even try to play them anymore. Thief (reboot) made me sick in 15 minutes, Overwatch dizzy after 30 minutes (watched someone else play) and I felt like throwing up after 20 minutes of Stanley Parable. Can't watch 3D movies without a massive headache and Sin City made me throw up as a kid. (I was fine with gore so I think it was the coloring that made me sick.) And comic books like Sandman give me a headache and dizziness. Heck even watching this made me sightly ill. So I have issues with some types of entertainment but since it's not an issue in life, I don't bother trying to change it.

Science fact: Activated charcoal is 'activated' by increasing the surface area. This helps stop poisons by absorbing things. Super useful for a lot of things. Poisons especially.

8:13 I'm sorry to have to tell you, Andy, but they've since discovered that that guy wasn't killed by a falling rock. Archaeologists found his head in a lower level at the dig site, intact (likely dislodged during a previous dig), and they think he likely died of asphyxiation. Jane is, in fact, right. Fun fact from a chemistry minor: Activated Charcoal works by absorbing different types of chemicals and impurities. In this case, the carbon in the pills would presumably bond with what ever the poison was and render it inactive.

He said “Caecillius est in horto” (Caecillius is in the garden) - he was spouting lines from the Cambridge Latin Course, the standard school level Latin textbook in the UK. Caecillius est in horto is a bit of a meme for Latin students in the UK

Kathy Aird They have it even more wrong because in Roman mythology Kronos was called Saturn. To be fair, chronos does sound slightly cooler and the root chrono does mean time (if I remember correctly) so they got kinda close But yeah it is slightly unnerving when you know it should be a different way

This was addressed in a livestream. Jane loves the idea, but not yet. They're taking a break from RE2 and if things work out then we'll see Jane taking the reins as Clare. So basically avoiding single game burnout (for the viewers I suspect primarily) and then scheduling.

Sounds easier than it actually is, for anyone who has played old school Burnout or Timesplitters, those games were so fast pace (for the time) that reviewers often described you having to play them like you had matchsticks in your eyes, blink and your dead / crashed car.

About the activated charcoal: I do know that you should never eat anything with it if you're on medication because it will neutralize all of it. So theoretically, this would also be true of harmful substances, such a poison.

I've always been under the impression that activated charcoal is just charcoal that hasn't been used to filter stuff before. I know you can re-activate it by baking it in an oven. Activated charcoal is most often used in fish tank filters and water purifiers. However it is used in medical environments for counteracting poisoning (depending on how the poison acts). They will first pump your stomach out, then fill it again with a liquid activated charcoal which will absorb toxins and then they pump the charcoal out again. They will do this several times.

Mike: activated charcoal is charcoal with a very high porosity. It's very good at absorbing metals and some organic compounds, but I seriously doubt it'd work to suddenly cure someone of poison in their bloodstream...

The only piece of latin I remember from being forced to learn it at school is "Cornelia sub arbore sedet". I can't remember who Cornelia was or why it was so important to know she was sitting under a tree and I'm pretty sure that was from chapter 1 of the textbook.

That is from Chapter 1 of Book of Ecce Romani, a somewhat venerable and (in)famous Latin textbook. Funnily enough, that isn't what people usually remember about it. People usually remember the part where the main characters' cart gets stuck in a ditch on the way to Rome and remains stuck for what seems like half the book. And of course later you get chapters about catching and branding escaped slaves, people burning to death in apartment fires, and the adventures of everyone's favorite uncle Titus, who loves to get smashed at parties. And a bunch of the main characters die young or become impoverished as a result of war and regime change in the epilogue. Ain't school fun?
