Heinrich Himmler is notorious in History for being a man who took the SS and made it into one of the most evil organisations in History. But he seized power away from the former Head of the SS, Erhard Heiden. Heiden is a forgotten part of the early Nazi party, but he was a man who was failing at his job and was being overshadowed in his role. He appointed Himmler as his assistant, and then Hitler noticed that Himmler was more talented than him and he was replaced. However then Heiden went missing, and he was executed.
Months after he disappeared, his body turned up having been dumped in a canal and it was found with a gunshot to the head. But who executed the former Head of the SS? It's believed that either Hitler of Himmler himself executed Heiden as he knew too much about the Nazis. It was a powerplay by one of the most evil Nazis in History Himmler, but what is the story of Erhard Heiden's death?

Though Heiden was titled SS leader, he was only a "Protection Squad leader" consisting of 280-1.000 men and was dismissed already in 1929, 4 years before Adolf assumed power. A nobody, really.

It was before the NAZI party came to power and he was replaced by Heinrich Himmler who organized the SS into a formidable organization. So, Heiden is not historically important, you might say, a nobody. I am not historically significant either, you might say, a nobody.
