The craziest thing about CSGOLotto was how this wasn't even the first time that this shit happened. Back in August of 2015, there was this game that made the rounds on KZbin called Dead Realm, that was basically Hide and Seek but scary. Several KZbinrs made videos on it, including Vanossgaming, Syndicate, and SeaNanners. These three youtubers were later outed as having produced the game and chose not to disclose any of this information whatsoever. Thus the FTC got on their asses because of it.

A few things you missed about Journey of the Light that you missed: The button to turn the lights on and off weren't a proximity thing, the button toggled ALL the lights at once. The game came out before Valve had a formalized refund system and refunds weren't really a widespread thing back then. There was no 2 hour time limit for refunds back then, they just weren't done widespread. For Valve to come out and say that they'd honor all refunds for the game no matter what was WILD back in the day. I own it and now in my library it's "Journey of the light-remake" which was remade into a sort of "unity's tutorial followed game with a light ball based platforming" with now one achievement to beat level 1, which is still impossible to get legitimately. At the end of level is just nothing. Bought it for around 30 cents, it's one of the prized possessions of my steam library.

if you've ever read up on how to do beef jerky or any kind of dried meat, they'll always tell you to get a lean cut as fat does not dry and will just spoil the whole thing. A cut with a lot of marbling like Kobe beef would be utterly useless for jerky. There's a reason nobody did Kobe or Wagyu jerky before. Can't blame the backers for not knowing this, but it's pretty obvious he just wanted to drag people in by using the name and people fell for it.

That is true in terms of making a jerky for long time preservation, but some people prefer fatty cuts (though care must be taken and they should be eaten quick or refrigerated because they'll spoil quickly). I make my own jerky and I don't discard the fatty offcuts, and there are some places that sell jerky that allow you to specifically request extra fat (though they can't publicly advertise it)

The escort saga is very bizarre. The only reason people ever looked into the whole thing, is because Phil was using money he specifically fundraised for taxes, to fly a woman across country. He did lie about the money, but the person flying to him was his wife. It's kind of wild that, if he just never lied about where the money goes, the entire "saga" would never have happened.
