Chris was always self righteous, greedy, obsessed with sex and blamed everyone and everything but himself for his problems. Uli is kind of like a reverse Chris Chan. He’s an odd guy, and he knew that. He never tried to start a war with the internet or exploit his e-fame for girls and money. He never took the trolls bait because he was just too busy living his own life. People liked to mess with Chris because, as bad as some of the trolls were, Chris himself is hard to pity. Uli is a strange guy, but a decent person. People didn’t want to make him miserable.

OCD is the reason I stopped playing grindy video games in my teens. In FFVII, any time I got a new party member, I HAD to max out their limit breaks before I was "allowed" to proceed in the game. This involved countless hours grinding against low level enemies. It took all of the fun out of the game, but I couldn't stop. I finally quit RPGs after playing FFIX, because I had to press the X button at every position in every walkable map, in case there was a hidden item. I couldn't finish anything. I always had to leave no stone unturned. Anyway, I'm treated now and doing fine.

He is the goat - He got super good at parallax just because he likes math - Pretty sure at least one of the weird things he discovered while zeroing in on a game ended up being used as a legitimate speedruning technique - Wrote a book (or 2 ?) no one gets years ago and still makes money from it - Went from a guy affraid of water that only went to a few spots near where he lives to a guy taking vacation on a island, alone, where he then took a boat trip with other tourists further away from the coast to swim and visit and loved every second of it. - Isn't affraid of working low pay jobs with weird hours to not be a hindrance to the people around him. He's the guy you just want to check on to see if he's doing good, pretty sure most of his patreons aren't even there for early access to his games or to speed up the process but just to give him money, his only real issue is that, while the early game and midgame of "creating something" has him hyperfocused on a project, the endgame part often seems to not interest him that much so he'll go back to playing games usually until he starts a new project, but he's aware of that so he's probably working on it like hedid with water. Oh and also, MagicMush didn't say much about the pizza degreasing part but it' takes a good part of his time, one time he bought 3 or 4 pizzas in one go and I'm pretty sure the degreasing process took an hour and way to many sheets for it not to be an ecological disaster. It's also always cheese pizza, he doesn't eat meat and I don't think it's political or because of animals, he just stopped eating meat one day and never went back. A true legend.

He and Eric became close, and Eric wanted to help Uli with a video game Uli wanted to write. At that time, Uli was obsessed with making it run at exactly 30fps. Uli was a genuinely sweet guy and - I swear I'm not making this up - would give us all friendship grades. Being nice to him and not using foul language got you a higher grade (I got a mid-high grade as I recall because I really liked him, but I tended to have a pretty loose posting vocab). I think he's morelikely Schizophrenic and untreated than autistic the more I think of it. That being said I don't think the average mentally disabled person could ever do this. He wsd clearly more intelligent than average and honestly probably could get laid for having done all this. It's fucking cool. Severe Schizophrenia but he was clearly happy and healthy. Like very cool bohemian artists vibes.

@CatManThree5 ай бұрын
@@WocklessGamingforAnimeMoms He has a severe case of OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), not schizophrenia. OCD is a disability a person is born with which results in their brain being wired very differently. Their brains lock onto and obsess over specific things which extends to specific things they enjoy doing, irrational anxiety triggers/fears, and habits. All of which can severely impact the person's life socially and in terms of supporting themselves depending on how severe the case is and what exactly their obsessions become. In Uli's case, his primary obsession is mathematics and the deconstruction of very specific old games. His anxieties being the things related to dying in games, which grew subconsciously through his obsessions. Having a mental or social disability does not equate to being intellectually impaired. In cases of stuff you're born with, it more often deals with having an abnormal brain which learns and processes things in a abnormal manner. Also schizophrenia is a severe disorder surrounding a person's mind losing its grasp on reality and becoming drastically deluded with nonsense. Terry Davis is an example of that, albeit an untreated case of it.

I'm a big fan of Mario 3, so I'm going to break down Ulillillia's statement about "maxing out the score in the first level." First of all, the score counter goes to seven digits, so a maxed score would be 9,999,999. The best way to get points in Mario 3, especially if you're locked to a single level and can't use the time bonus from finishing levels, is doing chain stomps. Stomping 8 enemies in a row will net you points that increase like so: 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000. After that you will start getting 1ups, which do not award points. There are a limited number of enemies in 1-1, and the only decent opprtunity to do a good jump chain is off of the green parakoopas toward the middle of the stage. These guys will respawn, but not if you fully kill them. If you leave them in their shells and leave the screen, or even kick their shells down the nearby pit, they'll come back. But if you kick one of their shells into another for example, that one will not respawn. However, you could always fly up to the pipe you can go down near the end of the level, when you come out the other pipe all enemies will respawn. There is a 1up available in the stage, so running out of time and lives, eventually getting a game over that would reset your score to 0, is not an issue. In conclusion, this is possible to do and would probably take several hours, but not a ridiculously long time. You can get 8,500 points from a 7 chain stomp pretty easily (without killing any of the paratroopas which would result in lost time), jump back left over the pit and return and do it again, all pretty quickly. You'd have do do that around 1,175 times to max out the score. That's doable if you're dedicated and a little crazy like this guy.

Thanks for explaining! This video also mentioned getting to level 999 in Disgaea 2, which is basically just ordinary run in a game heavily focused on resetting levels and grinding all over in New Game+ I feel like the videos like this try to make these things look weirder than they are. But in many games getting a Platinum is much harder and absolutely casual players got plats for kicks. Not saying it's easy or diminishing Nick's achievements, just saying this isn't even weird, just some of self-imposed challenges you can find on KZbin, GameFAQs or even IGN.

honestly I think him being a Bubsy fan made him ascend to the level he is now

That's a few levels above "dying for our sins".

It's refreshing to watch a video on just an interesting, cool, and chill guy instead of someone to hate or fear. Thank you for sharing Ryan to your audience. This was delightful.

"Neurodipurrgent" I LOVE that you actually implemented the terrible Bubsy puns. So many love/hate memories from playing this game as a kid before I knew enough to realize what a terrible game it was. 12:35 That pizza grease looks like a fish. Just an observation. Overall impressions, this was a genuinely heart-warming video and I enjoyed the positive attitude. Fascinating guy, and genuinely impressive to see a guy with such weird issues and phobias toward the end swimming in the bluest water I've ever seen. Sure, it's part of the internet, but anyone who harasses this guy deserves to have their balls removed (and if they don't have any, surgically implant balls on them just to remove them afterwards).

In regards to the “mind game”, it’s embarrassing, but I do something similar where I have a world constructed in my head that I “zone out” to. It has consistent lore, characters and locations. I think it started when I was younger as a way to help me to go to sleep, but I think I understand what Mr. Nick is trying to express.

If you haven't already, you should probably try some artistic medium (drawing, writing, music) to depict it. That stuff is great fodder for expression.

I have a world too. It’s something I like to imagine whenever I like to go for walks. Deep lore, crazy characters , savage beasts you name it. It’s probably in it. Lana x Maggie for life!

What a coincidence I was thinking about how Ulillillia did IRL minmaxing before "looks maxing" etc. became a thing this morning

I'm glad I stumbled across this video it was entertaining & really intriguing & the fact it didn't end up with Ryan (another oddball internet personality) being a creep, pdf file, scammer or some sort of psychopath but actually a morally decent human being that minds his own business & shares his passions & thoughts online to those who want to listen was an absolutely welcome & refreshing conclusion. He's still weird af but in a quirky way where he seems harmless & intriguing with no ill intent.

The end scene with him in the blue water talking about it put a real big smile on my face.

@richarddavis8863 I've gotten sleep paralysis once in my entire life and It was when I was around 14, I was able to forcefully move myself and touch the dark entity taunting me, to which it disappeared and I've I've never got it ever again.

@@Valstrax420 yeah it's terrible. I used to try to drag my fingers into my mouth to bite them to wake up. Usually didn't work and made my fingers sore the next day lol. Once my mom's dog ran in and woke me up when I was moaning and I was so grateful
