Astounding to know that the complete records from that final trial still exist too. Didn't expect it to go all Sam Raimi in that last description!

Fascinating stuff, and possibly a lot more relevant to national history than might be thought. At the time of the trials Bradshaw was having a bit of a conflict with Cromwell and one might speculate how that might have influenced events. One theory holds that witch trials were a symptom of competition for political influence, so how this plays out in Chester could be more complex than we think.
