Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. it's a shame Duncachi didn't bring up Tails Nightmare. not just because Tails Doll is in it, but because it's one of the best sonic horror fangames from way back in the day. there weren't any sonic fangame engines you could use back then, so the developer made their own from scratch. and if you can ignore the spooky visuals, it really does feel like a classic sonic game from start to finish

the appearance he takes on in soulless is actually from a flash animation!! it's a spooky easter egg in one of the shorts from sonic shorts! i don't remember the exact number but i just wanted to chip in because i always loved tails doll as a kid! also, another source of many of the tails doll urban legends is a website by the name of cracker & bowen, where people submitted their own mythos and stories on the lil dude! it's since been archived and you can read many of them for yourself! one headcanon they made up is that he eats souls and apparently they taste like ice cream to him lmao

Tails Doll is just one of those childhood memories kind of creepypastas to me. As a fellow individual who watched Sonic stuff way back, including the Sonic Shorts, seeing Tails Doll was always a delight. Never scared me, but he was always pleasant to see. I think there’s one thing that also makes Tails Doll special, and I hope it’s alright to mention something from another video about tails doll. And that’s the mystery of the tails doll itself, he doesn’t need to be covered in blood, holding a giant creepy smile or even have any ill intentions. He can be interpreted in many ways due to the nature of not having that much story to them, I mean the fact that tails himself doesn’t even know why he doesn’t get a metal tails instead of this doll is a mystery in itself. It’s fun to think of what Tails doll can be like in your eyes instead of just widespread media.

I honestly prefer the actual tails doll design rather than the one with claws, sharp teeth, and blood. Mostly because the lifeless look to og tails doll is unsettling all on its own. It doesn't need blood or knives to be creepy. The blood is just unnecessary too. Honestly it's also it seems as if it was unintentional with og tails doll. Idk the one with the smile isn't really scary to me because it gives it emotion, that's what makes og tails tail scary. Just my take!

God, i remember when i first expose to it was in sonic shorts too. not to mentioned tails nightmare games did also remember watching a narration of the og (it was in loquendo city voice, which made it all the more better and funnier). kinda a shame there aren't many retakes of this poor fella that kinda exploit its eerie nature; even if its a bit silly. good thing I did one lmao, was fun writing and making fake screenshot of it(im a godzilla nes creepypasta fan lol). still, this lil doll fella has a place in my heart, especially since tails doll was my first introduction to spoopy sonic horror(before sonic.exe or that fun is infinite sonic).

Ah, the Tails Doll Curse. That takes me back to high school in the mid 2000s. Anyone else remember that Quacken and Bower site with the "urban legends" with Tails Doll or whatever that was called? Early 2000s.... Get cursed by him on Sonic Gems Collection by tagging him, and you have to banish him by getting all the Time Stones in Sonic CD. Hold him back while you do by surrounding your game console with Shadow the Hedgehog merch. Fun times, trying to pull that off with your friends at a sleepover, lol. Sonic version of Bloody Mary.

As hellish as the Friday Night Funkin fandom has been, I do hold it in high regard for reasons like this. The game was built from its foundation to have appearances from other media even in its base game (Skid and Pump from Spooky Month, Pico from Pico's School, and you cannot tell me Senpai isn't a Doki Doki Literature Club reference) and the modders took that concept and RAN with it. I haven't seen a modding community this active since the Sims 4 and Minecraft, and it's only made more accessible with FNF being a free game. Sorry for not being on the topic of Sonic here but. It genuinely fascinates me on how FNF is able to bring together fandoms.

As someone who has zero ties to the sonic exe fnf mods and SETD i do dislike that you bring them up instead of other, older fan media. I get it, they are integral to the modern versions of the characters, but as someone who was there in 2013 when all this got popular, i've seen so many better (imo) and more interesting versions of the character throughout many fangame interpretations. and i also dislike how you skimmed past over the archie comics iteration, as it literally HEAVILY inspired from these fan made ideas for the character. I even own the comic issue where he transforms into a fleshy version of Perfect Chaos. Tails Doll, especially when compared to Exe, has so much more to talk about than FNF mods and Roblox games (ps, soulless sprites are traced over really old tails doll fan art from back in the day. not really original to the mod)

Tails Doll has the worst fanbase I ever seen. Its Sans fanbase before Sans fanbase. Tails Doll is oversaturated, spreads so much misinformation and interpret him as something that caused me to absolutely hate it and ranked it at #1 worst horror fanfiction. I can't go one day in the Sonic fanbase without seeing his name and/or his face, its really annoying. There are so many concepts they could have done but nope they only use Tails Doll. He's just a racer created by Dr. Eggman. Even Tails Doll fans hated the creepypasta. The archie version gave me flashbacks from the fanbase that I want to set the comic book issue on fire while I absolutely despise Archie. The horror stuff out of Sonic characters official ones are just Tails Doll, Tails Doll, Tails Doll, nothing else. I feel sorry to the good side of the fanbase that doesn't involve anything horror related that they either get ignored, cancelled or never come to fruition. So yeah I don't really hate Tails Doll (The original). Only the creepypasta and stuff very similar. If you want a good haha demon animal doll thing go play Mr. Hopp's Playhouse.

Let alone the fact how it twisted the perception of that particular character for years to come!
