Pendrive isn't an EXE and here's why. First, EXE as a character archetype is invariably derived from Sonic.exe, so the cutoff point for an EXE's creation is when the original edit was created in July 2011. Second, Pendrive Azul was made as a Sonic creepypasta and those stories aren't considered EXEs because of their independent origins. Third, the two stories have surface level comparisons but are ultimately different narratives and writing styles; Sonic.exe focuses on a mimic capturing people and abusing them for its amusement and Pendrive Azul is about a malicious video game that triggers epilepsy. Bonus point, people liked to argue that Sonic.exe plagiarized Pendrive Azul due to the fact that the story hits many tropes in it's reading time. However, the story being not only Spanish but obscure until recently means JC likely never encountered it. There is also evidence to suggest JC would have originally named his story "Sonic.avi", meaning the file name's correlation was unintended.

The fnf mod of Pendrive was made for a cancelled mod Executable Mania. Called the “CountDown Update”, I guess it’s being moved if Snow said it’s for an upcoming thing. The art of Pendrive in the mod is by Dani the director of Executable Mania

I love vibingleaf's game, but I really wis someone made a more accurate version. For example, the game vibingleaf used is the 16-bit Sonic the Hedgehog for the Genesis, but in the story, I'm pretty sure it was the 8-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Master System. Also other little details, like the squares (rings) when you get hit being red instead of black. However, I still prefer vibingleaf's story, because it's actually quite realistic and much more believable than "demon in game".

I like pendrive azul due to how unique it is and being one of the first sonic pastas(funny how it's the Spanish community once again shows me cool stuff next to Slendytubbies),but one thing I always thought was the countdown was meant to represent Sonic offing himself,like his head gets overflowed with his own blood before it explodes,I always thought the blood from his eyes was from his head overflowing with his own blood and the seizure was caused cuz his head was blown up with his remains flashed on screen, regardless this is still a cool creepypasta!

The Blue USB Blur doesn’t count as an EXE due to it being an EXE minus all of the cringey aspects of the original Sonic.EXE, all of them replaced with a more realistic approach to making a “cursed” bootleg Sonic game made without SEGA’s Permission, and having said unauthorized Sonic game cause serious debilitating medical issues to the player, actually hurting him in real life without any “Supernatural Forces” involved in any way at all.

Thanks for watching and commenting on the video! This is a valid question, and after I found out about the video I thought it was similar. Although, I make my titles before making the videos themselves! And didn’t find out about Toadbups video until after I was doing research on Pendrive! The first title was actually “The EXE that can actually hurt you,” but was later changed due to backlash and I didn’t want people fighting in the comments :) TLDR; no, just a coincidence and I kept the title cause I think it sounded the best for Pendrive

My Dumbass is coming up with lore for how to incorporate EXEs into canon Sonic.EXE Alright, Pendrive. How would i write him into a Sonic.EXE Lore setting... Well. Pendrive would be our FIRST EXE, made as a practical joke in like 2009. (Im specifically talking about the Original Pendrive, not Vibingleaf's Retake) after the destruction of his pendrive in 2011 by Gonzalo, he would pull out souls that he previously had taken. (Those being Alan, Dave, and Paul) and mold & fuse them into Sonic's Friends, during this. The code would become corrupted and transform him into 2011X, and from there he would infiltrate Kyle's PC though a new Sonic Rom he created on his own using the bit of energy he had. (Fr though i like the concept of Pendrive, and I think though a bit of TLC and care, can be introduced back in as another Sonic Creepypasta)

Can we please stop referring to EVERY Sonic creepypasta as an “EXE?” Pendrive literally can’t be one, because it predates the original Sonic.exe story. There are plenty of other original Sonic creepypastas that aren’t a Sonic.exe retake. Chinelin Sonic, Sonic 0, Pendrive, Sonic 3 Hacked Cartridge, Green Mountain and… I don’t know, Fingers the Echidna? There are many more than that, and my point is they aren’t addressed as “EXE” stories because they aren’t fucking retakes of Sonic.exe, they are original Sonic creepypastas
