It IS winter here so that's why the weather is like it is ! We need all the water we can get as it looks like we may be entering an 'El Nino', a climate pattern that moves back and forth across the South Pacific Ocean between South America and Australia. In the past it has brought drought. (We are moving out of 'La Nina' , its opposite wet climate pattern which has brought floods during those years.)The backroads tend to be a bit on the rough side as they are in the huge area of the country-side. England is approximately the size of Victoria, the second smallest area size with the second biggest population. A coach route runs through Gippsland to Sale, a lake and seaport In Eastern Gippsland. In the Latrobe Valley in Mid Gippsland, there are roads called , Old Sale Road and Old Coach Road. Bendigo, Castlemaine and Ballarat form The Golden Triangle. Gold was also found in other places. The gold was washed up from deep in the earth by underground rivers. There are deep gold mines at Bendigo, and Walhalla in Gippsland. The latter town is an interesting one to visit. A guy I know, who lives near the Golden Triangle, keeps finding gold in his backyard when he does the gardening. He's cursing himself that he had a cement floor laid for his new home!

I hope you make the Cobb+Co Museum in Toowoomba (27 Lindsay Street, Toowoomba) as part of this journey, it's a fair hike from Victoria, but you'll have plenty of scenery along the way. Plus you can learn about Captain Thunderbolt on the way back

@@CapitalistBuddhist You'll probably also want to checkout the Australian Standing Stones at Glen Innes, actually based on this video you'll probably enjoy Glen Innes itself too. The Glen Innes Lodge Motel, is basic affordable accommodation, when I stayed there it was clean and well maintained and the owners were really lovely people. Australia has thousands of these lovely small towns, so plenty for you to explore.
