Oh man that Duckhead Forge Slater is so rad!! Love the beefy Sure Grip handle on that one! Wow you discovered and learned so much interesting information thru your testing and research! I think it's a testament to your abilities as an educator (and a loquacious elocutionist! ) that I was completely enthralled with all 28 minutes of this video, even tho 80% of this technical steel talk goes over totally over my head lol! Loving this whole 'video from the garage' setup!! All those Doggie stickers to the left of you are so cute omg!! Shouldn't there be a pair of jumper cables hanging on the wall behind you tho??? 😂 Your shirt gets the win today cause you look effing amazing in stripes!! You're like a walking 90s fashion throwback show (Winona!) (Mila!) and I'm here for it!!! 12.8k!!! 🥳🍔. Great video, Erica!!!! ❤🧡

I always enjoy your end of month evaluations. Can't wait to see how the K390 comes out. I don't have that type of steel yet. S60V is interesting. Thanks

I have a Spyderco Military, produced in the late 1990's. It is in 440 V steel. Love the knife.

Thanks for sharing about this rather interesting "forgotten" super steel; it does seem to be a shame that so few knife makers are working with it. Granted, if it is as fussy to work with as you say, I can understand why it's not very popular. 🤔 👍 Take care and Cheers!

I think this is one of the best reviews that you have done. You did both the research and the testing. I have never used or even seen a knife in S60V but it sounds like a great steel. I also like steels that form vanadium carbides. An issue that they have and what you ran into is they should only be sharpened on diamonds or CBN. The carbides are harder than other sharpening media and what seems to happen is that they mess up the microscopic teeth that the carbides form.

You always bring up so many things that I don't think about. Like what grit stone gives the best edge not only for sharpness but durability. Thanks for the time and knowledge invested into your videos. God bless you and your family.

It’s mostly Vanadium enriched chromium carbide which is super than just put vanadium. Those carbides are soft enough to use traditional abrasives to sharpen.

The diamond products I used were the only thing that benefited the steel and the edge- tried all the ceramic/aluminum oxide etc stuff and it seemed to make it duller- who knows! Just my experiences 😂❤
