Great tribute to a team that deserves to take its place alongside the Wales teams of 1958 and 2016-22. Such a shame that the eight-team Euro finals tournaments didn't start until four years later. Brilliant input from Flynnie and Leighton James.

I was 11 in 1976 (I was football mad) coming from/living in Liverpool I have Welsh links, so I supported Wales as well as England ... I remember that two legged European Championship Quarter Final, "just like the World Cup Final play off against Scotland in 1977" Wales was Hard Done By!.

The Hungarians had not lost a competitive tie at home for 16 years before the Welsh beat them in 1975. Also Griffiths goal against Austria was not on his debut but he was 34 when he scored the goal at Wrexham. Glockner would only referee one more international match after the Yugoslav game.

Missed the group games as I was away at Uni but managed to get to the quarter final. Not a happy memory. I do recall someone wearing a referee's association or similar tie calling Gluckner a disgrace to refereeing as we left the Bob Bank at the end. And the crowds banging the sides of buses and vans walking back into Cardiff. And then Anfield, of course. Enough said.

Totally false chronology at the start of the video. Mike Smith wasn't appointed after the game in Vienna. That was his first game in charge.

And unfortunately there's more. The video says previous boss 'after a poor run of two wins in ten games, Dave Bowen was replaced by Mike Smith, Wales' first full time manager'. But that is misleading. In fact, the Welsh FA offered the full-time position to Bowen but he turned it down, not happy with the details of the contract. It was only then that they chose Smith.
