The Fortnite Festival Experience Is Not Good (But Could Be Someday)

I agree with the setlist being boring, especially with the new tracks coming today being lackluster as well. I dont mind using a standard controller however, I feel like it's a more accessible way to play the mode without having to fork over a lot of money for a guitar controller. I do agree that guitar support should have been there from the start though. My main issues with festival just come from how buggy it is. Being a live service rythym game means you can't pause songs, nor restart them at any time. Making everything so tedious and annoying if you want to FC songs. On top of the countless crashes, camera issues and other bugs, it makes the whole experience a drag at times. Hopefully they improve on all of this in the future

I totally get the accessibility of a controller - those secondhand prices for instruments are insane. The setlist is probably great for some people - that’s certainly the part of the game that’s the most up to personal interpretation. And yea technically it’s just not where it needs to be at the moment

I absolutely love Fortnite festival and it’s been fun but it really feels like a beta/ demo it feels very EMPTY -Only one venue -Small and and (imo) VERY boring tracklist -Jam Tracks that are too expensive -Shotty mapping on a few stems -Dull and lifeless UI - Festival pass can be completed in a day despite costing $20 Really hope they improve 10 fold next week for Season 2 cuz there’s a lot of promise and I’ve had a lot of fun with the mode it’s just gotten really dry in the state it’s in

Yea there’s very little substance in this game. I wish it would have came more fully formed and waited on releasing it for a while.

The thing about festival is they are testing if people want this type of game and about the plastic instruments, they will come out at some point but having controller as a option makes the game 10x more accesible then stuff like rock band 4

That makes sense - I think it’s great for accessibility to have the controller option too. It sucks on how hard it is to find older plastic instruments these days

I’m severely disappointed with the pricing and rotation of songs, but it’s really not that bad. You really can’t expect the game to be exactly like the old rockband though, the two games are just different. I’d recommend clone hero, it’s a good substitute if you’re looking for a genuine guitar hero/rock band experience.

Yea my own expectations definitely played a part in my disappointment- I think though it if launched it a more robust state I would have been able to forgive some of its shortcomings more easily. Even though it’s free it feels more like an alpha or beta than like a finished product.

Is good enough at least for me since is basically what I play most in Fortnite since it came out. And the point about the instruments is also kinda true, in the sense that yes it is more fun to play with instrumens (I guess, I never had that experience) but having the option to play with controller is also good enough for "accesibility" purpouses. I also want to point out that, situations like those in 4:56 didn't really happen during the first weeks, something broke in a later update or something idk

Yea I agree with having both options on controls - it just didn’t make sense to me to drop with one and in my opinion the much worse one. Also the broken online stuff makes sense - since the first few weeks of the game I only played with friends or solo

I think 500 Vbuck on paper is a fair price since they're 4 emotes built into on AND. A playable song. But yeah, for some reason buying 2 of these for $10 makes me feel ripped off

I understand that thought - I wish the emotes had an option to play all the parts at once. Again, it's not terrible compared to the rest of Fortnite's pricing but Fortnite's pricing for it's cosmetics might be a bit off (I know the game is free please don't yell at me lol). glad someone said it. I was so excited for this mode as I'm a big sucker for rhythm games and saw the potential this game has but the execution is borderline terrible. What's up with all the notes being the same color as the background? The game is a buggy mess and the song prices really don't help. I want some variety. I'm so passionate for this type of stuff that I believe it will get better but right now, things are not great. Instruments are expensive as well and it feels like they're gatekeeping them. The festival pass should not be 1800 vbucks either. Not to mention the game doesn't even work, whenever the songs are supposed to load my game just crashes, yeah I have a terrible laptop that barely runs the game but come on every other mode works but not festival? How is that more technically pretentious compared to something like battle royale? But I digress. I still love the concept and everything but I know they can improve the execution. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though, it's just the beginning and they're experimenting, as far as I can see.

Ok i get everything you said and agree withe everything but the epic songs. They missed everytime except (as you said) butter but also brace for chaos is so good. personally i give it a 2.5/5
