This may sound sorta fanboy-ish but i don't believe it was fully due to the anime (the extended chapters centered on them probably are though). If i had to guess one sub arc that was included due to the anime it would be the Sein stuff

@@titomedexd7361 it’s not about including an Ubel-Land subplot in the arc, that was most likely planned. It’s adding shipping fuel scenes like showing them on a date, trying on animal ears, fake-out kabedons and that “reins” comment that aren’t really essential to the plot added in for the fans.

Serie is a lot friendlier now, and it’s interesting to analyze what she really thinks underneath that facade of hers… it wouldn’t surprise me if Serie wanted Frieren to leave so she wouldn’t be at risk, now that Serie seems to openly approve of Frieren’s way of magic - particularly if Serie thinks she’s gonna die. If that’s the case, I get the feeling Serie wants to ensure that Frieren can lead the next generation of mages. Also, Frieren was a total bitch by rejecting Serie’s obvious offer to have a personal chat. But then again… maybe that was Frieren saying «I’m staying, you can’t make me leave». God, these emotionally stunted elves… they better not die

Definitely saddened a bit with the way Frieren disregarded her offer the second time. Seemed like Serie was about ready to open up about something 😭 but I do like your idea about Serie wanting Frieren to lead the next gen if anything happens to her. Serie wants to see something that goes against her expectations and Frieren has always done so from the moment they met. Even if Frieren doesn’t literally lead the next generation, she is at the head of mages who go against Serie’s expectations. I could even see Fern being the one to inherit Serie’s position from Frieren, who wouldn’t want it in the first place. A unexpected passing of the torch in a sense, signifying the age of humans, with one leading the mage association.

i feel like the death flags are so blatantly obvious that maybe she wont die.. Plus there is a fact that like the author showed how Serie has unbelievable mana bc her restrained is as big as frierens unrestrained and it might just feel like a waste if she dies to a sneak attack or something

Serie has been dropping death flags all over on the latest chapters. I wouldn't be TOO surprised if the enemy actually succeeds in this arc.

Fr, this arc has the potential to be the best in the series with all the set up so far! Lots of moving parts, but it’s all been written so well. Gonna take a while for the next ch to drop it seems tho, so glad to know this vid will be useful to you and others who want a refresher 😄

Hope Serie doesn't die. In part because i love the character not gonna lie, in part because i believe there's a lot more that can be done with her. Like if things go south hope he ends up becoming the monster and not getting killed

A fight between Sein and Kreis seems inevitable, and I honestly cant wait to see their (depressing) reunion happen. Honestly hit me really hard when Kreis was revealed to be a shadow warrior considering that means if he was a shadow warrior since he was born, all the times he spent with Sein as kids were just lies for him to blend in. But at he same time he was pretty young, so he could have joined later

She has as many death flags as Denken in El Dorado and he still is happily among us planning coups with his friends. If i had to bet i say Sense is gonna die and Serie may unleash her full strengthm

I think the problem of asking frieren if she can see serie die is that, she has killed the demon king, a being that nobody thought would die, so frieren might say no but that would be to cover her fear or thought of seeing serie die.

Serie is an overprotective parent that hardly trusts the safety of her kids in their own hands if they can't surpassing her. She able to trust humanity to lead the peace era only if human able to kill her. For her, human need to become strong to maintain the peace in the world.

I am all hyped up to this arc, I wanted Frieren and Serie to have more interaction but was disappointed by Frieren's attitude tho Serie started it. Although I really can't imagine it, I believed Serie will die in this arc I just hope it is not a disappointing plot. I also wonder what Serie thinks of Frieren's role in the future she sees since she did not answer it, but as other comment suggests it might be her leading the new generation of mages. Serie's death could possibly start a lot of wars and betrayals among mage association and us ended up having numerous arc to anticipate.

everyone in that team (beside Serie) isnt power seeking mage. All of them are "weird", Sense want magic so she can sleep, Ubel and Land seeking the same spell, looking for their family, Fern, laundry magic, Falsch want voice mimicking magic, Frieren literally refused Serie privilege back when the first time they met, then one "self esteem problem" warrior and one "looking for his friend and milf lover" priests. All of the mages there (excluding Frieren party, they just caught inside the conflict lol) are picked because they exceed Serie expectation, again since they choose weird spell, but this one including Frieren and Fern while they arent Serie bodyguard, they just got into the conflict lol

In this world, no one need a significant luck to succeed. If your plan makes good enough sense (heh, Sense ඞ), it works. Even a plot to asassinate top-tier elf mage.
