Well I've already placed in 4 a tournaments because of your Insight and knowledge and now I'm very sure I'm going to start winning tournaments because that right there was the one thing I was really lacking I already know about time to the rail span to the leave and how to apply it I also know about your leaves on in the funnel and how to use that and I really strong at my safety game because of Tor Lowry but that bright there was something I was laughing I can't thank you enough actually I'm probably going to start taking lessons from you

The speed appears to be much faster for stun shots than what you indicated should be a normal position shot speed
@poolteacher
@poolteacher 3 жыл бұрын
At the greater distances the speed is definitely on the upper end of the range…keep in mind power is lost at greater distances with additional friction.

Does the stroke speed, where the cue ball ends up around the side pocket, depend any, on the size of a pool table ?.... 9 foot vs 8 foot or bar box
@frazierg0325
@frazierg0325 3 жыл бұрын
I would say yes. Same concept. Adjust speed for the table size. But ask Anthony.

So I am just assuming that the speed of your stroke has to match the size of the table correct

I do enjoy your videos, but as far as the stroke speed goes, you are progressively hitting the ball harder as you move back diamonds... it takes a lot of feel on the table to learn to time a drag stroke for distance. your shot at 8:35 vs 8:50 are two drastically different stroke speeds. Angle as well as distance are big determining factors for stroke speed and tip placement. Adding in more info, as to the distance you are wanting the cue ball to travel after the hit based off the angle, would help players more. That is my only critique....otherwise, great and informative videos.
@poolteacher
@poolteacher 3 жыл бұрын
You are correct. They are two different speeds but honestly when you are just a diamond away it’s going to find the tangent line with almost any speed except really soft speeds as long as you strike the cue ball in the center. I made an adjustment with speed there to play position with a softer hit. And that’s sometimes what you have to do. One was a finesse shot and the other was a breakout. They are on opposite ends of the speed range. Appreciate the comments. Thanks for watching.
@poolteacher
@poolteacher 3 жыл бұрын
And if you take my class you will learn that the speed range is a 2-3 speed on nearly all the shots struck.
@jasonjohnstonbaugh1080
@jasonjohnstonbaugh1080 3 жыл бұрын
@@poolteacher I'm not saying its not going to find the tangent line...im just saying having the general statement of tip placement to a set stroke speed can hinder some players. everything is variant on the angle of shot as well as distance, dealing with the desired cue ball travel after hit. i'm just sending some info that could be good to add..... i have worked with a lot of top level pros and instructors, and by far i think you are one of the best, if not the best teacher/instructor in the game with your knowledge and execution. just trying to leave some feedback is all. keep making this sport great!!!

I do enjoy your videos but I do think this lesson should have been called recognizing the tangent line. It certainly doesn't teach you much about position play
@poolteacher
@poolteacher 3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate your input but the tangent line is the foundation for all position that is played. Both stop shots and tangent shots makeup a large percentage of position shots that are played. And it serves as the foundation for where your cueball goes. If you follow the shot the cueball bends above the tangent. If you draw the cueball it bends below the tangent.
