Dude, you have no idea how much I feel this. If you recall, I've been following your Suburban build, because I got myself one. That whole pinstripe thing with the different erasers, I damaged the paint in several places. So then I watch YT videos on how to fix the damage I caused. The "paint correction" videos I watch taught me about polishing compounds and equipment, so I got a cheap 6" polisher and a few pads from Amazon. Two different compounds from Griots Garage, and I then spend the several DOZEN hours doing the entire ''Burb, including the glass (cause, why not). I also did the chemical industrial fallout removal over the entire thing with a synthetic 'clay' pad. Worked my way from 2000, to 3000 grit on the bad spots (plenty on a 187k, 18 year old truck). My shoulders still hurt from all that buffing, sanding, polishing, wiping, rinsing. MAN... the acreage one of these beasts has when you go over it so many times is incredible. So yea, I challenged this build, that's for sure! I feel your frustration as every step I made, I messed up and had to "un-f__-it". Overall, it looks amazing so I'm pretty happy. But hey, the last thing I'll do is something I think you might be interested in, and should probably do since you don't wash your vehicles (yea, I caught that because I watched every second of this video). Instead of waxing or 'sealing', I'll be using a ceramic coating with graphine. It's made by Turtle Wax, and crazy easy to apply (search 'Pan the Organizer' and Turtle wax graphine for info). There's a spray, but I'll be using the polish to made sure it's "embedded" as much as possible. My truck is outside all day (garage at night), but I work near a steel mill, so the metal particles are floating everywhere and like to attack paint. Ok then. This is by far the longest I've rambled on YT, so that's enough of me. I could go on forever (hope I didn't bore you) Rock on man, great video, thank you very much. Be well sir, looking forward to seeing that hood installed!

Wow... I appreciate the time you took to inform me of your trials and tribulations with your build. I had to read it multiple times to make sure I didn't miss anything. Sounds to me like you did one heck of a job on it, and the thought of ceramic coating it really makes sense! My goal is to set aside some time within the next two weeks to get the hood on the truck..... FINALLY!... I need to get caught up on a few reviews that a couple companies asked me to do, so you will probably see a few new videos pop up before the hood, BUT its getting close.... Thanks again for commenting and watching, I do appreciate everything... Thanks 👍😎

@@ChallengeTheBuild Rock on, thanks for the reply! I figure the best time to apply something as "final" as the ceramic/graphine would be when the paint is as absolutely perfect as it'll ever be. Seems like that time is now for both of our projects. (I can coat most of the truck now, but I'll be painting the front bumper next weekend. Just got the paint in the mail today). I did contact the folks I bought the paint from to ask how long I should wait to apply a ceramic coating but have not heard back yet. I love to show off the results of the paint work, so if you're interested, lemme know. Sorry, I'm like a kid at Christmas with all this. Like most guys, I love shiny things and this one doesn't disappoint.
