Put your loving hand out, baby I`m begging (Begging) begging Put your loving hand out, baby (Begging) begging you Put your loving hand out, baby Riding high when I was king Played it hard and fast Cause I had everything You walked away, won me then But easy come and easy go And it would end (Begging) I`m begging you Won`t you give your hand out, baby (Begging) begging Put your loving hand out, baby I need you to understand That I tried so hard To be your man The kind of man you want in the end Only then can I begin to live again An empty shell Used to be Shadow of my life Is hanging over me Broken man without a throne Won't even stand the devils dance To win my soul (Begging) begging you Won`t you give your hand out, baby (Begging) begging you Put your loving hand out, baby I`m fighting hard To hold my own No, I just can't make it All alone I`m holdin on I can`t fall back Now that big brass ring Is a shade of black (Begging) I`m begging you Won`t you give your hand out, baby (Begging) begging Put your loving hand out, baby (Begging) begging you

I think Frankie and the seasons pulled off a level of emotion to the track, which added that extra flavor the others lack. The backup vocals have a ghostly whisper to it and when Frankie says "put your lovin hand out baby" I hear a level of desperation in that I don't think the covers managed to add to.

Wow this is ear candy. The bass and drums lay a strong and groovy ground on the left ear, those strings, the piano and the choir really complement the foundation and add rythms for the singer. And the singer man, he's like covering both left and right ear, bringing it all together. The honest voice of a gentleman. And a special note for that choir. Bagging ---... youuhhh . That's so great and goes so well together with the rythm. I love the choir of this era, theres something so melodic and unique to it.
@Luanmm
@Luanmm 2 жыл бұрын
Their choir work is indeed excepcional. Maybe because they perfected it as they started as backvocals for other artists in the 50s, and later blew with musics with strong choirs (their first hits were Sherry, Walk Like a Man and Big Girls Don't Cry, you may like those too :) )

Still can't find it. Lost the paper with the lyrics I managed to get and all I got left are the la's. It's a song lamenting not getting together with someone sung by a woman. I'll know it when I hear it again. I even tried looking it up by the type of jukebox it was with the song* number. The list wasn't on it or on the internet and I've been peeved ever since.

this is the first time i listen closely to the original version of the song. starting with the theatrical strings intro and Frankie's longing voice, creating this moving rhytm and atmosphere when the Bass, the Drums and the Piano are kicking in. he continues with almost screaming out the lyrics, like suffering from pain. the clapping hands and pleading backround vocals during the chorus, the nearly pitchy strings - this song takes you on an emotional journey a masterpiece! 💓

Seeing kids thinking this song was originally by Madcon makes me chuckle. There are so many modern songs that are just remakes of old 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s songs, you’ll be shocked. Glad at least you guys have good taste. You make the music I grew up listening to, live on through new versions and remixes.
