This was bass singer and founding member Renaldo “Obie” Benson’s last televised performance before he passed away later that year on July 1st,2005, the same day as hit singer Luther Vandross. He’s on the right side of the lead singer Theo Peoples in this performance.

@@jackanthony976 If you heard the original recording, the Andantes sang additional background vocals with the Four Tops because the guys were too low. That’s why the three females were up there. The guys were still singing. There’s plenty of videos of them singing this song without the girls,but you’ll see why the girls were added.

😀he was such a Happy performer and you can tell he loved to perform. I’m still sad that Obie , Lawrence and Levi are no longer here. I wish Duke would let them do a Four Top movie, like Otis did the Temptations movie. I wish Duke would do it, because nobody else would be able to tell the story the way Duke could.

Oh my goodness! Obi is doing his best to keep up. Kudos for being on the stage, when he was obviously suffering. Did he know, I wonder, if this was his last performance? I am sure Levi was watching this performance and wishing he were up there with his brothers. My heart goes out to the original four. He was sick. He is an original bass for them. He is the one created all the four tops dance steps. Look at old footage and you can see he actually moves and dances the best out of the original 4. He has stage 4 cancer and months later his leg was amputated and he died this same year of this performance. So he is doing the best he can to keep up
